    Mirgazia told Lina and her comrades about the reason for his journey. He knew what had happened in the war 1000 years ago, and he suspected that Mazoku were now trying to do the same thing. Gold dragons and elves could sense Mazoku, and Mirgazia and Memphis came to Dilss kingdom since they had detected a powerful Mazoku in that nation. Mirgazia asked Lina to stop the Mazoku's plan of starting another Dark Lord's Resurrection War.

    That night, two Mazoku, Mianzo and Tzeruzonaag, attacked Lina. When Gourry came to help her, suddenly, their inn was destroyed by a very strong power. It was Memphis who destroyed the inn. She and Mirgazia killed Tzeruzonaag, and Mianzo withdrew from them.

    Two days later, while they walked down the road, they saw smoke rising far away. They knew that a town was attacked by many demons. Memphis' armor changed its form, covering the wearer, and soon, she looked like a white giant with two wings. Lina learned that Memphis' Zenafa armor was the true form of the legendary magical beast, Zanaffar. Gold dragons and elves had learned how to make this chimera armor from the Clare Bible, and crafted it in preparation for the battle with Mazoku.

    Just after they killed all the demons, they met Maius, the gatekeeper of Gairia City. He came to ask Lina and her comrades to come to Gairia City again, since something had gone wrong in the city again. He said that after Sherra had been killed and Lina had left the city, many lesser demons had appeared in the city. The townsfolk had managed to kill them, but no soldiers had come from the castle to help them. Jade Codewell, the knight of the kingdom, had found that no one could enter the castle, and had said Maius to call back Lina and her comrades to the city.

    When they arrived at Gairia City, Jade wasn't there. They decided to sneak into the castle. Soon, however, they were seen by the castle's guardians. Milina told them to let her and comrades meet with somebody who had sneaked into the castle before. The soldiers had been ordered to arrest those who treid to enter the castle, but they couldn't understand what their king wanted to do, so they accepted Milina's plan and led them to the prison under the north tower. They were imprisoned, but not disarmed. There they met general Als, and he told them that there had to be someone controlling the situation. Lina suspected that Sherra had not been the only Mazoku that had come to Gairia City. There had to be others. She and Gourry broke free from the prison.

    Just after they got out of the prison, Lina and her three human comrades were trapped in a subspace created by Mazoku, and Mirgazia and Memphis were trapped in another. Soon Mianzo and three other Mazoku attacked Lina's group. Lina and her friends cooperated to defeat four Mazoku, freeing themselves from the subspace, and went into the north building of the castle.

    There they met the trade minister, Surdian, but he turned out to be a Mazoku. Surdian said he and another half Mazoku, Jade Codewell, would fight with them. Lina and her comrades fought well and dealt Surdian a serious damage, but yet another Mazoku appeared; Faliearl. Lina was attacked by "Jade" and Surdian at the same time, and she was wounded, but then Memphis and Mirgazia appeared. With these reinforcements, they could kill two Mazoku, and Lina was healed by Menphis.
