Prince Philionel was hiding from assassins and he asked Lina and Gourry to bring a message for one of two persons in the castle: lord Krophel or Princess Ameria. Lina and Gourry sneaked into the castle of Saillune. Lina and Gourry succeeded in meeting the lord, but when they were going to go back, they were trapped by a sorcerer, Kanzeru. They managed to flee from the castle, and Prince Phil decided to return to his palace next day.

    At the castle Lina was trapped in a strange subspace by Kanzeru, but she broke the seal and escaped. After that she was attacked by an assassin, Zooma, and then by grotesque creatures and a bug-like monster. She suffered serious wounds twice, but each time Gourry arrived to save her and took her to the magical clinic of the shrine in the castle. Ameria said that Zooma was ranked among the most deadly of assassins and Lina would be the first target who survived an attack of the most dangerous killer.

    While Lina was off having "fun", Ameria was visited by her cousin, Alfred. He was the son of Prince Christopher, younger brother of Prince Philionel. Alfred said his father was responsible for the disgraceful events that were happening, and he asked Ameria to help him to arrange for their fathers to talk together. The meeting of the two princes was arranged twice, but each time troubles occurred and the brother princes hadn't talked face to face.

    One day soon after, Lord Krophel was kidnapped, and Lina and Gourry went to save him... but Kanzeru interrupted. Kanzeru revealed that it was a Mazoku. Lina and Gourry used the guys who captured lord Krophel and Kanzeru fled. Before they could return, though, Zooma attacked again, trying to kill Lina. However, Lord Krophel's simple spell of "Lighting" blinded the assassin, who withdrew as well. They learned from a surviving kidnapper that the actual man who had hired them was Alfred.

    Lina, Gourry and Lord Krophel were attacked by Alfred and his gangs. Zooma appeared to kill Lina again. It was clear that the killer's client was Kanzeru. Gourry fought the killer and cut off his right arm at the shoulder. Lina then threw a "Flare Lance" at Zooma, who protected himself with left hand. Despite having lost both arms, he got away again.

    Alfred was arrested. Christopher begged Philionel for his son's life. Alfred, though, wouldn't show repentance and tried to attack his uncle again. Christopher killed his son with his own hands. Philionel then prevented Christopher from committing suicide.

    Lina and Gourry left the castle, and they fought Kanzeru. Kanzeru showed his power as a Mazoku and seriously wounded Lina. It wanted to kill her little by little in order to eat her agony and despair, but Gourry was not having any part of that. Kanzeru was ordered to kill only Lina and not to kill any other humans, and it couldn't harm Gourry. Ameria came and cast Ra Tilt -- the most powerful spell among the spiritual spells of shamanistic magic -- at Kanzeru. At the same time, Lina cast a Dragon Slave into the Sword of Light, and Gourry cut the Mazoku with it.

    Ameria declared that she would go with Linaand spread justice.
