Next morning, Lina said to Zelgadiss and Ameria that she would go to Sairaag all by herself. Zel said that he and Ameria would be useless in the battle with the Hellmaster, but they couldn't let her go all alone, so they would go with her not bothering her. Zel asked Lina about the Hellmaster's plan for he thought that Lina knew something. But Ameria said that they would go together and save Gourry and she didn't need to know about Hellmaster's plan. Lina felt so happy with her commrades.

    On their way to Sairaag, Lina was attacked by Rarshart who had another Mazoku, Mordirag with him. When she was very close to a crisis, Ameria and Zel interrupted and Rarshart withdrew with Mordirag.

    Three days later, they arrived at Ruald City and there Lina and Ameria saw someone similar to Phiblizo. They chased the person and found that it was Rarshart changing looks. Rarshart trapped them into his shielded field and attacked at them with Mordirag. Lina tried to strike back with Ragna Blade but Rarshart dodged it. Lina cut his field by Ragna-Blade, then Rarshart withdrew again.

    Another three days passed. Lina, Ameria and Zel took their supper at the inn, then Sylpheel entered. She said she was going to go to Sairaag for she had heard that there was a city in Sairaag except Flagoon. Lina told the story about Phibrizo and Gourry to her and she said she would go ahead to Sairaag.

    At that night Sylpheel asked Lina that when the Sword of Light was taken from Gourry by Phibrizo, what she would do. Lina had said to her that she went with Gourry because she wanted his Sword of Light. Lina couldn't give her the answer.

    Next morning Sylpheel went away and Lina, Ameria and Zel went later. Then they were attacked by Rarshart again. In the battle, Lina tried to cast Gaav-Flare but she couldn't. She realized that because of Gaav's death, the magic spell became useless. In order to confirm her idea, she cast Drag Slave and found it was useful. She cast Drag Slave again and again, but Rarshart dodged or protected all of them. At last Lina lost almost all of her magical power, then Ameria cast La Tilt on Mordirag. Unusually, Rarshart didn't protect it and Mordirag died away then Rarshart withdrew for the third time.

    Four days later, Lina walked alone on the street. She let Zel and Ameria go ahead of her. Rarshart appeared and attacked at her. Lina cast Drag Slave and ran to the general with her eyes closed. Rarshart hesitated to do a critical attack and Lina cut him with Ragna Blade. She knew that Rarshart was a pawn of Phibrizo now for his creator had already died. He was ordered to give Lina pressure but not to kill her. So she let her commrades go ahead and she confronted the general all by herself.

    Finally Lina arrive at Sairaag and found there was a city. There she met Sylpheel again. She was worried about Zel and Ameria for they were lost for two days. She doubted the big building in the center of the city. It was a huge one without windows or doors. Lina tried to cut its wall with Ragna-Blade but before she chanted the spell, a door appeared before them. Lina went to it only to find that she always came back to the outside. Lina and Sylpheel went to the shrine and met the chief priest, Sylpheel's father. He said that he wasn't made to talk about that building. Lina knew that he has his identity as the chief priest.

    Sylpheel worried that Phibrizo wanted Lina to cast Giga Slave and let the spell out of control and swallow up whole the world. Lina said she couldn't abandon Gourry and they went to the building in the center of the city together. This time they found the door was open and they could enter through it.

    Soon they met with Phibrizo. He said that Gourry was in the lowest part of his "shrine" and he wanted to show Lina something. It was a game of Phibrizo with Zel and Ameria. He said to them that he wouldn't attack them and they could attack him with any offensive magic. If they could kill him, Gourry would be released and if they couldn't they would know no human could kill the Hellmaster. He wanted to show Lina this game to tell her that she should use Giga Slave to kill Phibrizo and save Gourry.

    Phibrizo could make La-Tilt useless only by his will. Zel and Ameria tried many spells but he was too much powerful. Lina and Sylpheel saw it on the crystal walls of the shrine as they ran down the stairs to them. Finally they arrived to the room of game and Lina cast Drag Slave at Phibrizo but it was useless, too. Then Sylpheel cast Drag Slave at him. The Hellmaster didn't expect it so it was useful. Then Zel and Ameria cast La Tilt on Phibrizo at the same time and the childish Mazoku disappeared.

    Gourry released before them and they went up the stairs. Soon Lina was trapped in a space with Phibrizo and the Mazoku sent the Sword of Light back to its creator, the Dark Star before her eyes. Then he seized Gourry, Zel, Ameria and Sylpheel in the crystal. There was nothing left for Lina except to use Giga Slave.

    Lina tried to use imperfect version of Giga Slave but Phibrizo managed to protect it. He said he would kill Gourry first, then Lina begun to chant the perfect spell of Giga Slave. Then the darkness, deadly emptiness came to her. She tried hard to keep control but she lost her mind.

    Phibrizo saw that Lina kept controling Giga Slave and she stood there with a ball of darkness in left hand. She could use it to kill Phibrizo but he revealed that the food she had eaten in Sairaag was a part of Phibrizo. He used his part in Lina to take her apart --- but she resurrected at once! He realized that it was not Lina but the Lord of Nightmare who stood before him. LON used the darkness in her hand to kill Phibrizo but as LON existed within Lina Inverse, a human, it could use so little power of it. Phibrizo tried hard to struck back at LON. LON was devoted to killing Phibrizo and finally the Hellmaster gave a cry of death.

    Lina woke up on the bottom of a huge hole. It was the place where Flagoon stood before. Xelloss appeared before her and asked what happened. She said that she lost control of Giga Slave and LON possessed her. She knew that LON was the mother of everything, so it was not only the king of Mazokus but also was the king of humans. LON got angry with Phibrizo for he attacked at it and consumed its power in killing the Hellmaster. It could kill him, but it lost the power to possess Lina any more and it went back to its place. Lina didn't won the game, she only survived.

    Xelloss told farewell to Lina hoping that he wouldn't meet her again. Lina wondered that he hated the plan of Phibrizo and the Hellmaster himself. After Xelloss was gone, Gourry, Ameria, Zelgadiss and Sylpheel woke up.
