Lina and Gourry went to Accassi, a port town that was famous for the octopus dishes. However, when they came to the town, they knew that all of the restraunt were closed, because in those days, people couldn't go to the sea. Two fishermen (they are the brothers, Toba and Yamaka) explained that usually they fished octopus in the area near the stone pillars standing from the sea, but one day a monster fish had come and dwelt in the area and it attacked the fishermen's boats. Lina proposed to kill the monster fish in exchange of the fresh fish dishes. | |
| When Lina, Gourry, and the fishermen were going to the harbor, a young girl came and asked them not to catch octopuses anymore. She talked how she loved the nature and octopuses, and she said that the legend of curse would come true. But Lina and others ignored her. Lina asked fishermen about the girl, and they said that the girl was an stupid sorceress of white magic. |  | |
| They arrived the area near the stone pillars in the sea, and suddenly, a monsterous fish felt that there came the one with great power (Lina). Lina was just going to eat a fresh fish dish on the boat, but as the monsterous fish came up from the sea, her dish was ruined. Being beside of herself with anger, she cast a Dragon Slave at the monster, and ruined the monster together with the stone pillars around. The great power of the spell caused a big tidal wave and the fishermen's boat was capsized. | ||
| Deep in the sea, there were several creatures talking, "The first seal was broken." Xelloss stood on the broken pillar and said, "Hmmm, it will be interesting." Lina and Gourry sawm to the harbor with Toba and Yamaka. | ||

| In one restaurant in Accassi, Gourry was enjoying plenty of fresh fish dishes, besides, there was only one plate for Lina, since those fish dishes were gift for Gourry from the fishermen brothers. They didn't give any fish to Lina since her spell destroyed their boat. Lina complained and asked Gourry to give some dished to her, but Gourry refused. While Lina and Gourry quarreled over the dishes, waitress brought the dish of boiled octopus. Lina cast a Freeze Brid at Gourry, making him frozen, and tried to eat the octopus. Suddenly a man opened the door of the restaurant, shouting a meaningless cry, and the opened door hit the hand of Lina. The boiled octopus sliped out from Lina's hand and Gourry caught it with his sword, and then he ate it in one mouthful. At that time, the fishermen brothers came, shouting "did you eat an octopus?", and suddenly they cried together, "Munenashi! (*)" (* "Munenashi" is Japanese term for "flat chest".) Lina blew the brothers away by a spell. Lina found Luma, and asked about the legend she had mentioned, but while she explained, Gourry became to speak only octopus' toungue. Luma said that the curse of octopus was making the people who ate octopus speak octopus' toungue, and Gourry mattered, "munenashi". Lina knocked him down, but Luma said, "'Munenashi' is the octopus' term that means 'oh, my god'." | ||

At that time, deep in the sea several octopuses watched how people were in panic, using a crystal ball. Before them, an old base was settled and from inside of it someone talked to other octopuses. They talked that their plan was well carried out, however, they were anxious about Lina Inverse whom they had used to destroy the stone pillars. One very handsome octopus said that they had called for a person who would be able to defeat Lina Inverse, and until the person would arrive, he would command the mission. | |
| In Accassi town, Luma talked about the legend --- once upon a time, there had been a Mazoku, and one day, the Mazoku was sealed under the pillar in the sea. Luma said that as someone had broken the pillars in the sea, the Mazoku would resurrect soon. | ||
| On the shore, the handsome octopus stood and watched the sea, and the fishermen brothers found and caught it. There came Zelgadiss and Ameria, and Ameria saw two big men was catching an octopus, and as the brothers could only talk in octopus's tongue, she didn't hear their excuse, and blew them away. Ameria told Zelgadiss, "Now let's go to have octopus dishes!" Zel complained, "You behavior is totally different from what you say." |  | |
 | In the town, they found a panic, and then Xelloss appeared with a fainted octopus and an octopus pot. The Mazoku exaplained, "the octopuses are gathering bad aura of the people in this pot, but I don't know the reason. Be careful, the curse of octopus seems to be transmitted." Zel said, "Thank you for your advice, and what are you doing here?" Xelloss said, "It's a secret." Lina and Gourry walked on the street in the town where was filled with panic, and suddenly she found some octopuses gathered bad aura in the midst of confusion. The handsome octopus ordered an octopus to attack Lina, and the ordered octopus cast a shockwave from its pot. Lina cast a Bom Di Win and blew those octopuses away. Before Lina, Zelgadiss and Ameria appeared, but as soon as they met, Zel and Ameria were infected by the curse and they shouted "munenashi!" together. | |

| In Luma's house, Luma, Zelgadiss, Ameria, and Gourry talked in the octopuses tongue, but Lina couldn't understand their conversation at all. She asked Luma for an explanation. Luma told them that her family had studied the legend about sealed Mazoku generation to generation, and thus, she could use magic and octopuses tongue. According to Luma, those who had been infected with the curse of octopuses would have eight tentacles and in the end they would squirt ink. Lina asked Luma if there wasn't any removing spell for the curse, and Luma said, "Yes, there is, however, as I am inexperienced, I haven't completed the spell yet." Lina let Luma to use the spell to Gourry as an experiment, but, in the result, Gourry's body became more soft like an octopus. As Luma loved octopuses very much, she hugged Gourry, making Lina angry. |   | |
| In the shrine on the bottom of the sea, the handsome octopus watched Lina and the gangs on the surface of a crystal ball. He tought that both Zelgadiss and Ameria would be troublesome enemies, and asked another octopus if the person whom he had called for was surely coming, but another octopus answered that the person had lost and was missing now. The handsome octopus was terriblely shocked, however, he said "It's okay. I got more power now." As he glanced at the corner of the shrine, someone gave a sign to the handsome octopus --- the silhouette was similar to Xelloss. Something in the old base shouted, "It's good! My time to resurrect is coming!" | ||

Luma trained herself to get more energy from the nature, but she found that still she couldn't complete the removing spell for the curse. While she was disappointed, two shadows came before her, asking "May I help you?" Luma came back to her house, where Lina, Gourry, Ameria, and Zelgadiss were waiting for her. Luma brough a big plate of a fish, and Lina, Gourry and Ameria began a quarrel over the plate. Zelgadiss tried to stop them, however, the plate jumped from the table in the quarrel, and Gourry caught all of the fish that flew in the air and ate it in one mouthful again. As soon as he ate it, he turned pale and fell down on the ground. Zelgadiss said in the octopus tongue, "I expected this. The fish was similar to a fish with poison, Zaginde." Suddenly the door opened and there was a small figure. Luma said that it was the fish shopper who had sold the fish with poison to her. The figure said "The man's greed save your life, Lina Inverse..." It was the handsome octopus, and it introduced itself as "the Wise Octopus". It was apparent that Luma couldn't distinguish an octopus from a human. The Wise Octopus chanted a spell, Aqua Tentacle, which created many tentacles of water and controled them to attack enemies. Ameria tried to cast Aero Bomb, but she couldn't since she spoke the incantation in the octopus tongue, and the spell didn't work. Lina threw her short sword at the shadow of the octopus, casting a Shadow Snap, and attacked the octopus with a spell Dug Wave. The spell blew Luma's house away, but the Wise Octopus flew to the sky and withdrew. Then Xelloss appeared and it seemed that Luma and Xelloss had met somewhere. Lina asked Xelloss what he was doing there, but he only said, "It's a secret". Lina declared that they would attack octopuses, however, they realized that Gourry was buried under the broken house. | |

| In the town of Accassi, people were in panic and a group of octopuses were gathering the dark emotions of the humans with magic pots. Ameria and Zelgadiss couldn't use magic so that she broke the octopus pot with her kick, and Zelgadiss threw a knife at another pot. Gourry bisected several pots, and Lina blew the octopuses away with a spell. Finally, they made up their mind to go to the battle against the Wise Octopus and the wirepuller. Only Luma seemed to hesitate. Lina made a big bubble of air around her and the gangs, and they went into the sea. When they arrived at the bottom of the sea where the stone pillars had stood, they found a shrine in the sea. As they went into the hall of the shrine, they found that there weren't water and they could breathe. There was the Wise Octopus, and it said, "Our guardian god eats the dark emotion of the humans and will resurrect soon." Ameria said "For the name of justice, I won't allow a plan to resurrect a Mazoku!" But the Wise Octopus objected, "You are eating my tribes for long years! And can you talk about justice? What a contradiction!" Ameria couldn't say anything, however Lina didn't mind who was right or not. She only wished to stop the octopuses' revenging upon humans. |  | |

Wise Octopus commanded the group of octopus warriors to knock the humans down. In the battle, an octopus warrier caught Lina's hands, making her unable to use magic. Gourry cut apart the tentacles of the octopus warrir, and jumped aside, holding Lina in his arms. When he landed, he whispered "Lina, aishitenyu..." The word "aishitenyu" was similar to "aishiteru" = "I love you", however, Lina couldn't understand what he had said in octopus' tongue. The Wise Cotopus tried to attack Lina and Gourry with a spell,. however, Lina counterattacked at the octopus with furious Dynast Breath. It seemed that Lina could stop the octopuses' plan to resurrect the Mazoku, however, Luma cast a spell at Lina. Lina knelt down onf the floor, and said. "I expected this. You, Luma, must know about the fish with poison and you let us to eat it... Why? Did Xelloss said something to you?" But Luma didn't answer and she ran for the Wise Octopus. Luma said, "It was my dream to be and octopus and live together in peace. You, Master Wise Octopus, you are so beautiful! How wonerful it is for humans to be octopuses!" Suddenly, the noise and smoke came out from the magical base on the altar. It was the sign of the resurrection of the guardian god for the octopuses. | |
| Lina tried to cast a Dragon Slave, however, in the end of her incantation, octopus' curse affected Lina's language. She couldn't complete her incantation and the spell didn't work.
Finally, the magical base was broken and Lina and the gangs were blown out from the sea. They were blown away to the beach, and they saw that a monster like a sea dragon surfaced. The wrecks of the stone pillars fell down on the surface of the sea, and Xelloss floated in the air in the raining wrecks, smiling. |  | |

The dragon-like Mazoku came with the octopuses, and the Wise Octopus asked their guardian god to kill humans. The Mazoku said, "I have just resurrected and I haven't recovered my original power yet. I need more dark emotion." And it begun to eat octopuses. Luma cried out when the Wise Octopus was swallowed by the Mqazoku. | ||||
| Toba and Yamaka, the fisherman brothers tried to fight with the Mazoku for the sake of their deep love for the sea, but they were also swallowed by the resurrected Mazoku. Lina got angry and tried to cast spell, but it was impossible. The Mazoku shot a ball of dark aura at Lina. Gourry stood before her and tried to cut the ball of aura with his sword, but he failed and was hit by the dark aura. The Mazoku shot another ball of dark aura, and this time, Zelgadiss protected Ameria against the dark aura and he fell down. Ameria got furious about the Mazoku, and her strong belief on justice made her use her magical power without an incantation by a human tongue. Still, her power was too weak to cancel the power of the ball of dark aura, and she was hit by the dark aura as well.. Seeing that Ameria fell down, Luma recognized how she had been wrong. She said to Lina, "I have dreamed that every human should be octopuses... With such a selfish dream, I couldn't make my removing spell for the curse perfectlly. I know that we have to knock the enemy down. Probably, I can cast a perfect removing spell for the octopus' curse now." And Luma cast her removing spell at Lina and Lina got her human tongue back. Then Lina began to cast a Dragon Slave again |

The Mazoku knew what Lina would do, and it shot one more ball of dark aura at Lina, however, a laughter came from the sea. Soon, Naga the Surpent surfaced with an octopus on her head, and she was directly hit by the dark aura. The Mazoku asked Xelloss for help, but Xelloss refused. "I only wanted to make the situation more interesting for me." And Lina's Dragon Slave destroyed the dragon-like Mazoku. The Mazoku was broken into pieces, and the octopuses and the fishmen brothers who had been swallowed by the Mazoku all came back alive. |

The people of Accassi and the octopuses agreed to make the food of octopuses' tentacles as new menu in the town. So, people didn't need to kill no more octopuses for their famous menu. Later, when Lina and the gangs had their dishes of octopuses tentacles, Lina asked the Wise Octopus about the meaning of "Aishitenyu" in octopus' tongue. The Wise Octopus was surprised and answered. "It means that 'heavy' in human tongue." At that time Gourry said, "Lina, you'll be fat if you keep eating." Lina blew Gourry away with a spell. Xelloss was pleased to see the humans' messing around from the roof of the restaurant. The party said good-bye to Accassi, and it is the end of the story. |

| ... However, the resurrected Mazoku hadn't been destroyed completely, and it possessed a piece of octopus tentacle, and came back to the shrine in the sea. It tried to get in an octopus pot of people's dark emotion, but at that time, something came. It was a big jellyfish, and Naga came out of it. She began to look for some money or something precious there and found an octopus pot. The Mazoku tried to stop her to take the pot away, but when she turned around, the piece of octopus tentacle jumped into Naga's mouth. She was satisfied with the good taste of octopus tentacle, and this is the true end of the story. |

In the sea of Accassi, there was something ready for a battle against the humans. It said, "even though the battle between the octopus' guardian god and the humans was over, the battle between the octpuses and the humans continues!" Lina and Gourry arrived at a town nearby the sea. Lina planed to enjoy famous seafood there, but there was no place to serve the seafood. The man in one restraunt said, "in these days, the fishermen couldn't get anything. There is no fish, no crabs, no sea snakes. But I hear that the fish market in Accassi is full of fish. I'm afraid that something is going on again." | ||
| Lina and Gourry went back to Accassi in order to see what was going on. Luma and Chie Tako (Wise Octopus) welcomed they with plenty of seafood for free. Luma told Lina that there had been nothing wrong in Accassi excepting the happening of a sorceresses bilking on a restraunt bill. Luma praised Chie Tako very much, and watching at their behavior, Lina knew that Luma and Chie Tako liked each other. Suddenly a man ran into Luma's restaurant and shouted "there is a naked young girl lying on the shore!" All of the men in the restaurant went out to the shore, and Lina, Gourry, Luma and Chie Tako went to the shore, too. The young girl was unconscious, but when she came to herself, she found Chie Tako first and hugged him. |

| The girl was Hime Tako (Princess Octopus), who was the fiancee of Chie Tako. Hime Tako and her father, Tako-ou (King Octopus), had left Accassi sometime before the battle against the humans began. It was because they looked for some strong commrades. The journey of Hime Tako and Tako-ou was hard and long, but finally, they could found a powerful fighter and they brough him with them to the sea of Accassi. When they arrived, two fishermen, Toba and Yamaka, found them, but the fishermen brothers didn't try to catch them. They said "we won't hunt the octopuses anymore." "The octopuses and the humans are friends now." Their words made the fighter angry, and he destroyed the boat of the fishermen brothers. Moreover, the fighter put curses on Hime Tako and Tako-ou, and they were forced to take forms of human. Soon Tako-ou was found nearby shore with the form of a middle-aged man. | ||
 | Hime Tako started to work as a waitress at Luma's seafood restaurant and she became the big draw there. Luma felt lonely, because Hime Tako had both pretty face of a human girl and soft otopuses suckers on her hands and feet. She seemed to be more suitable for Chie Tako. While Lina was anxious about Luma, Gourry ate all of the seafoods which Lina kept to eat later. | |

Then, a gigantic monster surfeced from the sea. It was a octopus bigger than a two-floored building. Tako-ou shouted, "this is legendary Tako-daiou (Great King Octopus) of the North Sea! They say that he is several hundreds years old and have great power!" Watching that Luma gave her hand to Chie Tako, Tako-daiou got angry and hit the ground near Lina with one tentacle. Luma tried to stop the battle, but Tako-daiou insisted that there was no friendship nor love between the octopuses and the humans. Tako-daiou attacked Lina with several tentacles, but Gourry protected her. Lina complained Gourry not to be in danger in protecting her, but he said. "It is my duty to guard you." Lina got brushed, but he added. "I ate your dishes, and it means that I have to work for you." |  | |
| Then, this time, Chie Tako tried to persuade Tako-daiou, and Tako-daiou told his story. When he was a very small child octopus, he and a human girl became friends. But soon, she left him, since her mother told her that they couldn't have an octopus as a pet. He thought that he was betrayed by the humans, and he couldn't believe that the humans and the octopuses could be friends. Chie Tako helped Luma from Tako-daiou's tentacle. Watching his behavior, Hime Tako understood that Chie Takko was in love with Luma. | ||
| Lina cast a Dragon Slave to the gigantic octopus, and then a small octopus ran away from the sea. It was the true form of Tako-taiou. He put a curse on himself to be a monsterous form. The small octopus tried to ran away, but Luma stopped him. She gave her hands to him, and hold him in her hands. Luma asked Lina, "do you think that we, humans, can't be friends with octopuses? we have done too many bad things to them..." Lina said, "Don't ask me. It's you and your friends who prove that the humans and the octopuses can be friends." The battle was over, and Lina and Gourry started for their new journey. And Hime Tako found that the life in a human form wasn't bad. |  | |
