Post Card (P.C.) : On March 2nd, I was watching television, and suddenly someone called your name, "Hayashibara Megumi-san". The program was "Bistro SMAP". Did you watch it?
Megumi-san (M) : In the TV show, Chiaki Kuriyama was the guest. Some of you may know that she loves Slayers. When she heard of the new Slayers TV anime, she might clench her fists with her cool face. Well, weeks earlier, someone asked King Records to lend them my promotinal photos. "For what TV show, do they need my photos?" "It's Bistro SMAP." "What?" Yes, I knew that Miss Kuriyama talked about me in the TV show, but I forgot and didn't watch the show on the day. But other one recorede the show and I could watch it anyway.
M : I have had lunch with Miss Kuriyama. She is so beautiful, but she was tense at that time.
Megumi-san took a post card from a listener. It wasn't usual Japanese post card but was one for air mail. It has a photo of a girl in the beach for the nudists in Turkey. The girl in the photo didn't put on the upper part of a bikini.
P.C. : I trabeled Turkey with my friends. When we found this post card, we were so surprised because it is impossible for us to find a post card with a photo of a naked girl in the sourvenir shop in Japan. I know that a radio show can't show the photo to the listeners, but I'm pleased if Megumi-san would be surprised, too.
M : Yes, those are good breasts.
P.C. : In Turkey, we spent almost half a day in the bus, and I was listening to "Tokyo Boogie Night" which I recorded earlier. One day, I had a chance to use internet for about fifteen minutes, and I came to know that "Slayers" was the most searched words in the mixi (The biggest SNS in Japan). It was first time for me to know that they would make new Slayers TV anime.
M : So you heard the news in Turkey. It feels like global... But you didn't write the reason why you choose Turke to go, you didn't write what you saw and what you think there... Anyway, thanks for the photo of the good breasts.
M : There are many post cards about Slayers.
P.C. : All those happenings of Slayers have been making me hight and I got tired these days. I listen to "the Best of Slayers" album and when I heard the voice of Lina in the prologue of "Get Along", I felt like to be brought back to the Slayers world. Megumi-san, only one phrase, "Abareru monsutaa areba...", brought me to the world that I was watching 11 years ago. The voice is like a magic.
M : Your phrase caught my heart! I remember the day when I and others got together to do the job for a drama CD which would be the exclusive present for the DVD-Box. At that time, I was anxious that if I could play Lina as I did before. But when I heard the voice of Gourry in the studio, Lina Inverse came back to me! Amelia's voice also brought me back, too. It was just like some classic music players record a song. When pops musicians record a pop song, they usually record per individual instruments. It is efficient when they try to record only a part of an instrument. I hear that some players of classic music prefer to play together. They think it's important to play together because co-playing can create something out of music. I feel that playing voice together is similar to the classic players who play together.
P.C. : I wept at the news of new Slayers TV anime. I want to bring this new to those who live outside of Japan" "I was so excited that I turned around again and again, holding my dog in my arms. He hated it and bit my hand." "The ache made me realize that it wasn't a dream."
P.C. : Welcome back, Lina and everyone! We are thrown in an uproar! I dare say that Slayers is the starting point for me, and Slayers takes root deeply in myself. I'm looking forward an exciting story! I think that Lina and others are well and enjoy their lives somewhere in this world even though there aren't TV anime or novels which tell us about them."
M : Thank you. There are so many fans who think as same as you, and those strong trust for Slayers make it true this Slayers REVOLUTION. There are some staff who finally start to work again, and there are some staff who were waiting for it to come for years. Those staff will make Slayers REVOLUTION an excellent one.
M : Here is the title of new Slayers TV anime. It's Slayers REVOLUTION. Last week I introduced a suggestion "Slayers Slayers", but it wasn't accepted. Revolution means a big change. Please wait for it to come. |
Megumi Hayashibara's radio show, "Heartful Station" was aired on FM-Fuji. I recorded it but when I listened to it, it was nothing but 60 minutes of noises. I'm sorry, and here I translate the messages reported in "Slayers NEWS" blog.

"Let's talk about Slayers for a while." Megumi Hayashibara enjoyed listner's suggestions about the title of new Slayers TV anime.
"Slayers MAX. I like it." "Slayers R, or Slayers R-rated... How can we rate Slayers as R-rated?"
Megumi-san's most favorite suggestion was "Slay-Tokyu-yers Guy". (Tokyu is for "Express" train or "Special grade".) This suggestion overwhelmed her previous favorite one "Slayers shin-Terebi-ban:Jo (Slayers new TV anime : Preface)".
"I know that they already announced the title of the new TV anime, but here we enjoy the listners' suggestions. I won't tell the true title now."
(One listner wrote on the post card "I want Mr. Hoshi to join new Slayers TV anime even as a guest.") "(Mr. Hoshi) I want, too." "How about you play the role of a robber A who is knocked down as soon as he appears? I know that you, Hoshi-kun, does many heroes or handsome guys, and it's not interesting for us to listen you do another nice guy. Robbers A enters and shouts 'ready for your death, Lina Inverse!' But Lina blows him away with a spell and puts an end. In the ending there is a telop -- 'Robber A Soichiro Hoshi'."
(One listner wrote that she watched previous three seasons when she was 6 or 7 years old.) "I think that Slayers was somewhat serious. I'm delighted that so little child of 6 years old watched Slayers. At that time, I thought such young girls prefered Precure or something like that."

And she finished with the same old comment, "Mite kunnai to Abarechau zo!" (If you don't watch us, I'll go on a rampage!")

"Heartful Station" was aired in Iwate, and the blog owner of "Slayers NEWS" reported Megumi Hayashibara's comments on Slayers REVOLUTION (this link opens a Japanese blog in a new window). According to it, there would be a new character in Slayers REVOLUTION, but there was no detailed information.
"Tokyo Boogie Night" is aired in Ehime, and someone reported about the show (#348 / #349 / #350) in the thread about Slayers REVOLUTION in the bbs in 2 channel. |

Some Slayers fans bought May issue of Dragon Magazine and one of them reported the article about Slayers in it. He(she) also uploaded the incompleted (he did on purpose) url of the picture of the article.
According to the article, the title of the new Slayers TV anime is "SLAYERS REVOLUTION"!
In the picture, I can see that Xelloss says "This time, I'll be the star". Along with him, there are comments "Xelloss is the leading act, will Lina give it up?". The article didn't seem to tell anything more, such as the staff and the cast. Anyway, there is a notice in the article, "in the July issue, some important announcement will come!" |

(Just like the previous week, she received a lot of post cards from Slayers fans.) "It seems like the news about new Slayers TV anime has created great sensation among the Slayers fans. They gave me a lot of their ideas about the title of the new TV anime."
"Here is an interesting title, 'Slayers GYU'... GYU is for 'ushi (beef)'." "(S.H.) Ushi?!" "But, as you know, Lina eats anything, not only beef..." "(S.H.) Then how about 'Slayers TON'? 'TON' is for 'Buta (pork). We can have 'Slayers Didori' as well." (QP's note : "Didori" is the delicious chickens.) "Then, there will brand-new chicken! Slayers Dori? It must be powerful!"

"Yes, there was Slayers NEXT, but there hasn't been 'Slayers Second'. It feels like that we walked forward for three steps, and now we go back two steps. I like it." "(S.H.) So, you say Slayers goes forward and backward? I have another idea. The first Slayers is those three seasons, namely, Slayers, Slayers NEXT and Slayers TRY. Now we get start the second Slayers from now. The first season will be Slayers Second, and the second season will be Slayers Second NEXT, and then we'll have Slayers Second TRY." "So, we have another trilogy... That is too new for my understanding..."
