- Megumi Hayashibara said that she had been busy and her vocal cord was weary.
- "Plenty of grit", the opening theme of "Slayers REVOLUTION", was created by the same team of "Give a reason", and this song is like a revival of the old "Slayers" songs. On the other hand, "Revolution", the ending theme of "Slayers REVOLUTION" is embodies "Slayers from now on". There are two points in the ending theme. One : the first phrase. Two : something in the middle of the song. The second point can't be included in the TV size version which will be contained in "Slayers MEGUMIX", and if you want to check it, please buy the cd single which will come out in July.
- When Megumi Hayashibara drives a car, she plays songs on her car stereo which is connected with the ipod. When she feels asleep, she prefer to listen "Over Soul" and "Northern Lights", both the songs for "Sharman King". The Slayers songs are too familiar for her and can't be eye-openers.

| According to the blog "Slayers NEWS", the July issue of Megami Magazine was released with the character design art of Lina and Amelia. There is one full length portrait for each characters, and several design arts for their faces. In the article, there is the storyline of the first episode which is slightly different from the storyline of the manga "Slayers REVOLUTION". They say, "Lina Inverse is traveling with Gourry. On their journey, they are suspected as the robbers who have robbed the treasures. Thus the first episode is eventful and their journey in 'Slayers REVOLUTION' can't be peaceful..."
Again according to "Slayers NEWS", the music information site "CD JOurnal" and the news site "Yahoo! Japan News" introduced the article about the albume "Slayers NEGUMIX" and cd single "Plenty of grit". Here it is.

"Slayers" is the famous series which came out as the novel sereis, anime, games and was developed by many media. "Slayers REVOLUTION" is the new TV anime of "Slayers" and it starts on TV Tokyo and its net channels from July 2nd, and will be aired every Wednseday night at 1:20a.m.! The popular voice actress Megumi Hayashibara sang many opening themes and ending themes of Slayers anime, and this time, she sings both the opening theme and the ending theme! She will release those songs as the cd single on July 23rd. Preceding the first airing of "Slayers REVOLUTION", Megumi Hayashibara releases the best album of Slayers songs "Slayers MEGUMIX" (KICA-916--8 / 3,000yen including tax). This album consists of three discs, "Gold" "Silver" and "Bronze". "Gold" and "Silver" has the twenty-nine songs of Slayers TV anime, motion pictures, OVAs, radio drama, and the video games. "Bronze" has the off vocal version of the songs in the "Gold" disc. The album also has a booklet of thirty-two pages. | The announced that new Slayers manga will come out in the monthly comic magazine for the kids "Kero Kero Ace". This comic magazine is the extra issue of the montly magazine "Gundam Ace" from Kadokawashoten. This information was soon posted in the thread about "Slayers REVOLUTION" in one of the bbs in "2 channel". Hamariya acutally bought the July issue of "Kero Kero Ace" and posted the image and the information in "Slayers NEWS". According to it, there is the article about "light novels" in that magazine, and in the article they are introducing "Slayers" series. In the introduction, they announced that "Kero Kero Ace" would have new Slayers manga. But they didn't tell the title, the release date, and the name of the manga artist. In the previous notice for the next issue, there is no title of "Slayers", and therefore, there will be no Slayers manga in the August issue of "Kero Kero Ace".

Q. Please explane how you decided to release "Slayers MEGUMIX".
The biggest reason is the new Slayers TV anime. Two years ago, they released the dvd-box and we can have all three previous TV anime. But there is no album that has almost all of Slayers songs. We thought "now is the time". There are many Slayers albums, but there is no cd in which they introduce only the songs sung by Megumi Hayashibara. We thought that it was a great idea to make a cd of my Slayers songs. And this album is the approach run for the new TV anime.
Q. I know that you love all of Slayers songs, but I ask you to tell us your favorite songs. Please tell us the reason why you like the songs, too.
"Give a reason"
In Heartful Station, we gather the votes from the listeners for the favorite Megumi songs and make a ranking for the best ten songs in every new year. "Give A reason" was always one of the top three songs. We can't miss this song when we are talking about the Slayers TV anime.
"Touch Yourself"
Comparing with other songs of Slayers, this song is rather sober. But this song is the starting point for me to write a lyrics for real. While I wrote the lyrics for this song, Megumi finally understand the spirit to write a lyrics.
"Otome no Inori"
Did the director overdo? No, I don't mean to say so. I think this song is TYPICAL character's song. I can recall Lina and Amelia in the cute costumes.
"Slayers 4 the future"
This is another typical character's song. Listening to it, I can recall Lina, Gourry, Zel and Amelia. My heart throbs, I feel sympathy, and I'm cheered up.
"MIDNIGHT BLUE"
While I was singing this song, I felt that I could go up one step higher in my singing skill. I was free from both the score and the lyrics. I was just singing to tell you what I want to tell and what I see in my mind. It's a primitive way to sing, but there is "a heart to tell" in the song. It was very important experience for me. The song itself is like an old song in a traditional legend.
There is the lisf of a lot of more favorite songs. When I sing the Slayers songs, I write the lyrics and sing the songs from the eyes of Lina. She made me to put many words and plenty of melodies together. Those phrases will be found in the Photo Book in the album "Slayers MEGUMIX". Don't miss it. |

- "For me, 'Plenty of grit' has another meaning 'a lot of bravery'. I want the title of the new OP to have three words just like 'Give a reason'. When I refered to a dictionary, I found the word 'grit', and I selected it."
- "Adding the bonus tracks, 'Slayers MEGUIX' has twenty-nine songs. 'Two' is 'ni' in Japanes, and 'nine' is 'ku'. Therefore, twenty-nine becomes 'niku' (meat). I think that Lina Inverse decided it to have twenty-nine songs."
- "In the lyrics of 'Plenty of grit', there is the phrase 'itsudatte koko ga hajimari (In any time anywhere the place where I stand is the place to start)'. Slayers starts again after those ten years."
- "'Plenty of grit' was created by the team which had created 'Give a reason'. The sound is clearer, the intro is powerful, and Okui-san supported the song. It think the collaboration of the members were very good."

- Natsuki Kato did the voice for the guest character in the first episode. The character seems to be wierd and it wasn't suitable for her image as an actress. That character will appear in some later episodes. Her character wasn't cute but will do an important role.
- "I admired Natsuki because she wrote many notes in her script. Mr. Akio Ootsuka found it and said, 'I can see how hard you practiced for this job. I felt your great effort when I hear your voice as the character.' His words made her relaxed. I myself felt how important is this job for her."
- "Natsuki told me that 'I watched Slayers ten years ago. If I could, I would tell myself in that days that 'you'll be a member of Slayers'.' And I consider about the meaning of our doing the same anime after those ten years."
- "We recorded the voices watching at the rough graphics of the episode. The graphics were too rough, and the voice actors couldn't see how the characters move in the scenes. I and Mr. Matsumoto asked the director the actions of each characters and did a plenty of ad-libs. Remember the word 'yay!' and you'll know what we did."

| In "Web KADOKAWA", the official site of the Kadokawashoten, they announced that they will release a bunko, "Slayers Smash 1" in July.In the article in July issue of Dragon Magazine, they announced "on July 19th, the re-published book 7, 8 and 9 and the new Slayers Special book 31 will come out". Therefore, we think that "Slayers Smash 1" is the 31st book of "Slayers Special" series.
Again, in "Web KADOKAWA", they announced that the re-published book 7, 8 and9 is planned to be released in July. There is the planned price, 588yen per one including tax, but they don't show the release date for those three books. According to the July issue of Dragon Magazine, they will come out on July 19th. |

They recorded the voices for the first episode of Slayers REVOLUTION. The voice actress for the guest character "Kuppie" posted a message in her blog on May 21st. Someone found it and introduced the url of the message to the thread about "Slayers REVOLUTION" in one of bbs in "2 channel". The voice actress is Natsuki Kato, a young actress and is an enthusastic fan of Megumi Hayashibara and Hikaru Midorikawa. Here is her message about the recording of Slayers REVOLUTION.

Natusi Kato was born in 1985 and she'll be 23 years old this July. When the first season of Slayers was broadcasted, she was 9-10 years old. | I bought the re-published Slayers novel series book 1, 2, and 3. They changed not only the cover art, but the style of the spine. Look at the two pictures. The left picture is the spine of the old third book, and the right one is the spine of the new third book. On the spine of the old book, they only showed the title of the book, but on the spine of the new book, they show the series and the number of the book with big letters and they show the title of the book with small letters. |

In the first book, the text is revised as the author had said. It is the scene of Lina's fighting against Mazoku for the first time in the book (p.138--146 in Tokyopop's book). In the old text, Lina cast a Fireball at Zorom, knowing that the enemy was a pure Mazoku. In the new text, Lina didn't know that she was confronted with a pure Mazoku and after she cast a Fireball at Zorom, she found out the truth.
In the afterwords of the third book, the author revealed that one character from the fast arc will appear in "Slayers REVOLUTION". Here is the translation of that part.

L : Talking about the assassin Zuuma. To tell the truth, the author actually had a story about Zuuma -- why and how he had become the assassin of assassins. The author didn't reveal the story in the Slayers books on purpose. As long as the main series of Slayers novels are written in Lina's perspective, it was necessary for the author to let Zuuma tell about his past in order to reveal Zuuma's past in the story. Mr. Kanzaka thought it wasn't natural, and he decided not to reveal Zuuma's past. However I think that it was author's mitake not to make a scene in which Zuuma tells about his story.
By the way, they will make the new Slayers TV anime, and they make Zuuma appear in the story. When the author came to know Zuuma's appearing in Slayers REVOLUTION, the author passed his idea about Zuuma's past to the anime-creating staff. Therefore, we can expect that the storyline of Slayers REVOLUTION will have Zuuma's story. |

| Someone bought the re-published Slayers novels three days earlier than the official release date. That person found an information about the character in Slayers REVOLUTION in the afterwords of one book, and send a message to Hamariya, the blog manager of "Slayers NEWS". Hamariya posted the news in "Slayers NEWS". According to it, the story of Slayers REVOUTION has Zuuma, the assassin of the assassins who appeared in the 5th book and the 6th book of Slayers novels. On May 19th, Hamariya bought the re-published Slayers novels as well and confirmed that the information was written in the third book's afterwords. |

| Fujimishobou announced the date and the time of the first airing of Slayers REVOLUTION in their mail magazine, "PC Dragon Press". Hamariya, the bolog manager of "Slayers NEWS" soon forwarded the news to the blog. According to it, the first airing will starts at 25:20 on July 2nd (or 1:20am on July 3rd) at TV Tokyo. This is the first official announcement about the airing time.
Japan Standard time is UTC +9. | The online bookstore "Rakuten Books" shows the images of the front cover of re-published Slayers book 1, 2 and 3 in the pre-order pages. In the images, we can see the "obi" which covers the lower part of the front cover. That "obi" has the word, "Broadcasting will start on July 2nd!". Someone posted the news in one bbs in "2channel" and the news soon forwarded to the thread about "Slayers REVOLUTION". Up to May 15th, neither the official pages in Starchild's site and in TV Tokyo's site doesn't have this information yet. |

| "Tokyo Boogie Night" was aired on TBS Radio, and Hamariya posted a detailed digest in "Slayers NEWS". Here is the rough translation of it (I omitted the part which is already posted in 2channel one day before.)

- Megumi Hayashibara chose the demo by Hidetoshi Sato for the opening song of "Slayers REVOLUTION". When she knew the song was composed by Mr. Sato, she hoped to let the song be arranged by Mr. Tsutomu Oohira. She hoped so because she wanted the song to be like "Give a Reason".
- Ar first, it was difficult for them to let Mr. Oohira to arrange the opening song of "Slayers REVOLUTION", because he had left the King Record Co. Ltd. Finally, them could have Mr. Oohira as the arranger for the song.
- After problems were solved, Mr. Oohira proposed that let Masami Okui sing the chorus of the song. This proposal was a great pleasure for Megumi Hayashibara.
- Megumi Hayashibara wrote a letter to Mr. Toshi Yabuki and Mr. Oohira. She asked "please remember the time when you worked on 'Give a Reason', and please make the song to have all of your power." Both of men were delighted with her letter, and they DID enjoyed their work.
- For about the ending song, Megumi Hayashibara and Go Takahashi were friends for many years, and she asked him "I like the song to be ba-ba-ba", then he made an excellnt song.
- When they recorded the ending song, there were very great musicians to play for the song. The drummer did a great job, and Megumi Hayashibara was anxious that he might faint or exthausted. And she did her best as hard as the drummer did.
- There is the reason for giving the title "REVOLUTION" to the ending song. You'll know it when you'll listen to the song.

- As you already know, Slayers REVOLUTION will start in July. It will be broadcasted on TV Tokyo in the late night. Megumi Hayashibara was surprised that TV anime of Slayers would be a late-night-anime.
- The schedule for voice recording was finally decided.
- The single cd of the opening song will be released on July 23rd.
- The title of the opening song is "Plenty of Grit". The title of the ending song is "Revolution".
- "Plenty of Grit" was written by Hideaki Sato, and arranged by Tsutomu Oohira. Mr. Oohira arranged "Give a Reason" and Megumi Hayashibara asked him "I want the time of 'Give a Reason' come again. Please remember the feelings and air your had at that time." And he did it! Masami Okui sings the chorus for "Plenty of Grit"! To tell the truth, many Slayers fans felt it was difficult for Masami Okui to sing the song of "Slayers REVOLUTION" because she had left Starchild some years ago.
- Masami Okui came to see Megumi Hayashibara's recoding songs. She came, she talked and she left. Anyway, it was great pleasure for Megumi Hayashibara.
- "Slayers Megumix" will be released on June 25th and it will have all of the songs sung by Megumi Hayashibara.
- In the beginning, they decided to make the new best album to have three discs. At that time they planed that one disc had themes of Slayers, another disc had the songs which hadn't been included in Megumi Hatashibara's albums, and the last disc had karaoke versions. However, the enthusiastic requests from the fans let them abandon the plan. They decided to let the album have all of the Slayers songs which Megumi Hayashibara sang.
- Megumi Hayashibara talked with her staff in the King Record Co. Ltd. over the phone, and they decided to let "Slayers Megumix" have the TV version of the opening song and the endign song of "Slayers REVOLUTION". So, you can listen them before the release of TV anime "Slayers REVOLUTION".
- The first released version will be in "Mega-gold" package. It will have the booklet of "the best scenes of Slayers" and "special photo book of Megumi Hayashibara with the phrase from Slayer songs".

(In Japan, there is the term "late-night-anime". This word is applied for the TV anime which is broadcasted between 23:00 to 27:59. In 1996, TV aTokyo broadcasted one TV anime "Those Who Hunt Elves" from 25:15 to 25:45. This is the first "late-night-anime", and this anime became popular among TV anime fans. Since then, many TV anime have been broadcasted in the late night. Therefore, when we heard the news of new Slayers TV anime, we were curious if they would broadcast it in late night or not. |

| June issue of monthly anime magazine "Newtype" is released. It contains three essays by Megumi Hayashibara in the page 70 and 71. Usuall, those essays are about Megumi's daily life, but in this issue, all three essays are about Slayers. The first essay is about how they decided the color of the jacket of "Megumix" album. The second essay is about taking photos for the jacket of "Megumix" album. And the third essay is about the title of new Slayers TV anime.
June issue of Newtype has two pages of advertisement of re-published version of Slayers novels. In the ad, they announced that the book 7, 8, and 9 will be re-published on July 19th. There is the words that "We will release the books with new cover arts three months in a row". From this message, I guess that they'll take a rest after July, and they will release rest of the books just before the second part of "Slayers REVOLUTION" will be broadcasted. |

Simpler text. | Someone bought June issue of New Type three days earlier than the release date, and posted the news in one of the bbs in 2channel. The information on Slayers REVOLUTION was soon forwared to the thread about "Slayers REVOLUTION". According to it, they'll broadcast "Slayers REVOLUTION" in the time zone between 25:00 and 27:00.
(Added) According to the information in 2channel, one of the anime magazines had the illustration of the new character "Pocota". It is said that this character had cast a Dragon Slave using the Sword of Light. "Pocota" seems to appear in the upcoming manga "Slayers REVOLUTION".
(Added on May 8th) The managaer of the web site "Moon Phase" posted the information in his web diary from the anime magazines which he bought ealier. According to it, Sylpiel and Prince Phil will appear in "Slayers REVOLUTION". The story begins at the time when Lina and Gourry start a new journey to look for Gourry's new sword with the power of magic.
(Added on May 12th) For the present, we can't find any official information on Sylpiel's and Philionel's appearing in Slayers REVOLUTION. In the bbs in "2channel", someone confessed that he had posted a message about their appearing in Slayers REVOLUTION. That person said, "I saw one image of the list of the cast in which Slyphiel and Philionel were included somewhere in the internet. I thought that the site was the official site of an anime magazine, and I posted previous message. Now I can't find where I saw the image of the list, and I don't remember the name of the magazine. I'm sorry for my posting unreliable news." And I read the information in the diary of "Moonphase" again and realized that the web manager didn't tell that he had gotten those information from the magazines. This service is in the site for the cell phones "Mobile New Type". There is the section "Fujimi All Stars", and if we use this service, we have to pay 315yen per month including tax.

Megumi Hayashibara also reads the request and those requests for the favorite scenes reminded her of each episodes of Slayers TV anime.
