| 8th Jun. 2008 | There is no update today, but I want to write about the tragedy which occured here in Tokyo today. 7 people were killed and 10 people were injured in the video game and electrical products district Akihabara. It went like this : A man drove a truck from Shizuoka prefecture to Tokyo. When he arrived Akihabara, the main street in the area was temporary closed to vehicle traffic. The man ran over 5 or 6 people there and crushed into a taxi and stopped. Then the man came out from the truck with a knife with 13cm of blade, and stabbed a man whom he had run over by his truck. Some people there tried to stopped the man, but the murderer swung the knife about and stabbed more people. One policeman came and tried to help an wounded person but the murderer stabbed him on his back. Then the murderer ran for the south for about 200 meter stabbing more people. Then the murderer went into an alley, stabbed three people there and he struggled with a policeman. The policeman fought the murderer with a nightstick, but the murderer didn't surrender. The policeman held out his pistol, aimed it at the enemy and demended him to drop the knife. At last, the murderer surrenedered. It had passed bout 5 minutes since he ran over the people by his truck. 17 ambulance came and brought the injured people to the hospitals. Up to the midnight, 7 people died and 10 people were injured. The murderer was Tomohiro Kato. He was from Aomori, and registered to an employment agency and the agency sent him to the factory in Shizuoka. Tomohiro Kato was 25 years old, and he told to the police that he came to Akihabara to kill the people. He did because he was sick of life, and he didn't care whom he kill. To our sorrow, June 8th is a memorial day of the tragedy which happened 7 years ago. In 2001, Mamoru Takuma attacked the Ikeda Primaly School in Osaka on June 8th. He and killed 8 children and injured 12 children and 2 teachers. His motive was similar to Tomohiro Kato's. He had been abandoned by his father and his wife. He was in debt. Mamoru Takuma lost the reason to live and made up his mind to attack Ikeda Primary School, to kill as many childrean as he could and to be killed by hanging. I feel grief for those victims of both tragedy and I feel depressed. Why the innocent people have to be killed without clear reason? I don't know what to do, but for the present, I won't forget the tragedies and tell my children not to stop love the people around there. |
