Hitode-san is the fanartist in the site "Maryuuougun Kouhoubu". I had dreamed to have her fanart in my site since I saw her beautiful Mazoku fanarts several years ago. This year, I was 50,000th visitor to the site, and Toride-san, the owner of the site, proposed me to make a request for a Slayers fanart, and he allowed me to post the fanart in my Slayers fanart gallery! My request was "Please make a scene in the 6th book of the canon novels, 'Darkness in Vezendy', in which Zelgadiss fought against Mazoku Duguldo." In that fight, Zel used Astral Vine for the first time, and this fanart shows it well! |
Duguldo was a middle ranked Mazoku with a huge black egg as its head, putting on a black hat and a black cloak. Despite of its funny looks, the Mazoku was a tough enemy for Zelgadiss, since it shot many black bullets of Mazoku power and used a black sword which it created with its own power. In this illsutration, the Mazoku seems to be very small, however, the Mazoku was as tall as Zel. Comment of Hitode-san : I made this fanart on the request from the 50000th visitor to the site, Maryuuougun Kouhoubu. If Toride didn't tell a lie to me, the request was "the battle scene between Zelgadiss and Duguldo in the 'Darkness in Vezendhi'". I tried many compositions, since it was required that Zel used his sword in the fanart. When I made the composition have moving impression, then I couldn't show Zel's face clearly, and when I try to show his face clearly, I got commonplace composition... It's a dilemma. Finally, I could make this fanart, and I have confidence with it. (However, I admit that the background is a skimpy work.) |
