About "Cosmos" |
|
Why we named "Cosmos" We named Aikidô Saku Dôjô's newsletter "Cosmos." As you know cosmos refers to the universe, it encompasses everything that we know. The cosmos as Endô Shihan mentions is the ultimate where the Tao of Aiki may lead us. By adopting this name it is our hope that Aikidô can go beyond mere physical techniques. With the active interchange of Aikidô practice among people throughout the world we can cultivate and share a world-view which is more peaceful and harmonious. Interestingly enough, cosmos is the name of a tiny pale flower which is known in Japan as the autumn cherry blossom. Cosmos is also the flower of Saku city where Endô Shihan was born. Isn't it amazing that cosmos can represent the ultimate reality of Aikidô and a small flower. |
