8. an extra-base hit：長打
■Extra Innings
刺殺（Putouts；略称は"PO"）と補殺（Assists；略称は"A"）の
違いについて簡単に解説します。
◇刺殺(PO)
batter runner（打者走者）、またはbase runner（走者）
を直接アウトにした野手に記録されます。
（例）
・レフトフライ：左翼手に記録されます
・ショートライナー：遊撃手に記録されます。
・サードゴロ：一塁手に記録されます。（三塁手から一塁手に転送されて
アウトが記録されるためです。）
・三振：捕手に記録されます。
したがって勝利チームの一試合のPOの数は（延長戦を除き）常に
27となります。
◇補殺(A)
一般的に、内野ゴロの打球を処理した内野手に記録されます。
（例）
・ショートゴロ：遊撃手に記録されます。
・ピッチャーゴロ：投手に記録されます。
(注)三振の場合は投手に補殺は記録されません。
もちろん外野手に補殺が記録されることもあります。
これを外野手捕殺（Outfield Assists：略称は"OFA"）といい、
外野手にとっての一種の殊勲といわれています。
（例）
・センター前ヒットで、二塁ランナーがホームを狙うも、センターから
のバックホームでその走者が本塁上でアウト：中堅手に記録されます。
・ライトフライから、タッチアップで本塁を狙った三塁走者をアウト：右翼手
に記録されます。
