のまま進んでいた。

◆Never try to break up a pitcher's no-hitter
late in a game
with a bunt single.
（ゲームの終盤で、ノーヒットノーランの達成がかかった投手に対して、
バントヒットによってそれを阻止するべからず。）
○基本的には、"潔くない"という事から来るUNWRITTEN RULES
です。
○このUNWRITTEN RULEについても有名なエピソードがあります。
2001年のシーズン、ArizonaのCurt Schilling （現在はRed Sox）
が、San Diegoを相手に８回途中までノーヒットノーランを継続して
いましたが、８回のBen Davisのバントヒットにより、それが阻止され
てしまいました。Arizona の Bob Brenly監督は激怒し、試合後、
Ben Davisを"弱虫"呼ばわりしていました。
○このケースも賛否両論があると思います。なんといってもその試合は
７回まで2-0でSan Diegoが負けていました。チームを勝利に結びつ
けるためにも何とか出塁してチャンスを広げたいと思う打者の心理は
当然といえば当然です。ちなみにその試合はSchillingが３安打完封
し2-0でArizonaが勝ちました。
