＊〜の部分には、an uprising, a threat, a rally などが入り、
"ピンチを凌ぐ"という意味でよく使われます。

[解説]
"to get off on the right foot"は「好調な出だしをする」
という意味のイディオムです。「あの負傷した右足で」この快挙
ということでon the right foot がdouble meaningになっています。
ちなみに"to get off on the wrong foot"は「出だし悪く」
という意味です。
