MAKING OF INDEX TABLE

 

This is a view of the cutting, 110mm diameter, cast iron. It would be taken for one month if cutting was done by a hand-saw.


The boss part of the table was cut. The size is the same as my lathe boss.




Making 4mm slot on the main axis.

 

This is a lower side view of the upper table.

 

This is a pre-cutting before cutting the T-slot. The depth is 10mm.

 

Three T-slots had been cut. The angle line is indexed by itself.

 

Thickness of the T-slot cutter is around 2mm, so cut must be done ,divided into 2 or 3 portions.

Making of the gear hob.

 

Indexing is done by easy indexing stand.

 


It is a gear hob before it hardens it.

 

It is a gear hob while hardening it. Two gas torches are used.

This is a worm gear.  Cutting depth is measured with dial indicator.

 

This is a worm wheel cutting. Material of the wheel is brass.

 

Pre-cutting of the worm wheel. Point of this procedure is adjusting angle of the gear way.

It is a finished photograph of the dial knob.

 

The material is cut out to the thickness of 3mm. It become an index plate.  ...it hasn't done yet.
