Japanese Language Class
organized by Association for Nakano International Communications

(1) To Learners:

"The Japanese Class" has been run by the Japanese teaching volunteers of the Association for Nakano International Communications with purely good intentions to pursue the purpose of international programs of ANIC.
Each of the learners is to read the followings to be fully aware of its rules and the role to support the acivity in cooperation with other volunteers.

(2) The Japanese Class:

Please choose one of the three below offered by ANIC:

Tuesday Morning Class	10:00 - 12:00
Tuesday Afternoon Class	14:00 - 16:00
Thursday Night Class (The 2nd and 3rd week)	18:30 - 20:30 (18:30 - 20:00)

*The class is run all through the year, except holidays.
(summer for 4 weeks, winter for 2 weeks, spring for 2 weeks)

(3) In the Class:

• Please learn not only Japanese language, but Japanese culture, customs, and way of thinking.
• Please get along with other people; learners from various countries including your own, and Japanese volunteers.
• Please take part in various activities and share roles as a volunteer of ANIC.
• Please don't do any profit-making activities to the members of the class, which is on purely non-profit-making volunteer basis.
• Please don't make any religious approach to the members of the class with people from various countries with various religion.
• Please don't bring valuables with you.
• Please take responsibility to your own valuables, money and belongings.
• Please be careful not to disturb other people studying together. You are to be quit in the class, in case you get others into trouble.

(4) Concerning Japanese study:

• There are regular changes of teaching volunteers. They don't belong to a certain group or an individual, but cooperate each other to run the class.
• The learners are divided into small groups according to the level. You may be asked to move to a different group with a different teacher after your absence.
• A group consists of one to six learners, sometimes less and sometimes more.
• The class is run in Japanese. Please try to speak Japanese during the class. But in the tea break time, you can use any language to socialize with other people.
• Please share all the necessary work with volunteers, such as arranging and tiding up the class room and preparing tea break..
• Please review what you learned in the class.
• Continuation is the most essential element to study a foreign language. Please try not to miss the class.
• Please bring a notebook, an eraser, pencils to the class with you.

(5) Necessary money to pay:

Enrollment Fee :	Learners living, working, studying in Nakano City : JPY 2,000-, others : JPY 3,000-After 6 months absence without any notice of the reason and period in advance to an ANIC staff member, a teaching volunteer, or Mrs.Nakayama (Language Specialist), you are to pay the fee again before re-starting Japanese study.
Teaching Materials :	The class uses the original textbooks. You cannot use any textbooks of your choice in the class. Pleaee purchase the followings;
	*	Green textbook : JPY 500- for learners without Hiragana and Katakanas.
	*	Blue textbook : JPY 1,000- for learners with Hiragana and Katakanas.
	*	JPY 400- Each of the 3 workbooks attached to it.
	*	JPY 300- Each of the 2 audio tapes attached to it.
Activity Fee :	Both volunteers and learners are asked to pay JPY 200- every 2 months to cover the expense for teas, various functions and activities in the class, regardless of their drinking teas or coffee.
Tuition fee :	Free.

(6) Others :

• If you know the absence in advance, please tell the teacher or give a ring to the office of ANIC 3387-2580.
• If you come across any problems, please get in touch with ANIC office (Mrs. Nakayama: Language Specialist).
