developed byDr. Betty Edwards. For two decades, Betty Edwards and her associates have been teaching the successful five-day Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain workshop. This workshop has gradually developed over the years: by fine-tuning exercises and teaching techniques and, most importantly, maintaining a low student to teacher ratio, Betty Edwards ensures that each participant will learn the perceptual skills necessary for drawing. This five-day intensive seminar is specifically designed for individuals who have never drawn before and who perhaps believe that learning to draw well is possible only for those lucky persons with inborn talent Betty Edwards and a staff of highly trained instructors debunk this widely held belief. Given proper instruction, the basic perceptual skills of drawing can be taught and can be learned in as brief a time as five days. From that point onward, as with any newly learned activity, practice "sets" the skill. Kristin Newton, who teaches the workshops in Tokyo and Hong Kong, has trained with Dr. Edwards since 1987 and is in constant touch with her to maintain the high quality which Dr. Edwards insists on.
