y The Hakkaku Toro ( Octagonal Lantern ) z
This sacred lantern is made up of six
parts, and has eight sides. We can see the
sculpturing of each side. Of the eight sides,
four are doors. The point of this
lantern is a relief between the doors. Angels
are carved and they play musical
instruments such as the flute, bamboo flute,
and cymbal. The sculpture of an angel
plays the cymbal is a reproduction.
