The Shoso-in Treasure �y Silver Foliate Platter with Gilded Repousse �z Diameter 61.5cm, height 13.2cm, weight 4.5kg

This is the largest and most elaborate silver platter in the Shoso-in. Its six-lobed foliate rim is decorated with karabana flowers in gilded repousse, while the central gild repousse deer has a large flower in place of antlers. Most of the beaded ornaments around the edges were supplemented in recent years, when the platter was restored.
