    Bikuni Shine Fire Festival: July 5th & 6th (4th is the eve)

    Portable shrine and parade floats parade in the town in daytime.
    Then, the long-nosed goblin and portable shrine bravely go
    through the burnt fire to purify the bad sprits in the night
    in front of the shrine.

   Events of Shakotan

    Okamui Soran Festival: The last Sunday in June (Bikuni Port)

    It is just like the birthplace of Soran-bushi, people celebrate
    it with singing, dancing, and parading.
    There are some outdoor stalls in the night.

    You will be glad to taste the real fresh seafoods only
    in Shakotan, such as sea urchin, squid, shrimp, and scallop.
    The must eat is the "Jumbo Seafood-nabe."

    Shakotan Iki-Iki/Lively Festival: The last Sunday of September
      ( Ikoi-no/Resting Plaza )

    Direct selling: the local harvests of the sea and riches
    of the soil are sold at the local price.

    Dokkoi (=never give up) Shakotan Winter Provision:
      November- December (Shakotan-cho)

    This is a festival of "Japanese-nabe/Potted dish" by using the
    ingredients in Shakotan for the reason of winter.
