Recollections of my teacher Mr.Satou taught calligraphy in Hirosaki Cyuou high school and Hirosaki university. It was at the calligraphy room in Hirosaki Cyuou high school that I met him for the first time. At that time, I had belonged to the music circle. Bat he urged me to enter the calligraphy club. Though I had practiced calligraphy since I was a child, his works changed my idea on calligraphy drastically. He is no longer with us, but I want to introduce the track of his works which he showed to us. |

Japanese painting and woodcut. I began calligraphy under my father's guidance. My father probably wanted me to paint a picture. But I resisted my father's Spartan training and I didn't choose painting as my life work. My father studied Japanese painting under Mr.Okabe You and studied woodcut under Mr.Katou Takeo. He devoted his life to Japanese painting and woodcut. He passed away several years ago. If he knew that I introduced his works in the website, he would get angry. But I want to leave the evidence then my father really created some Japanese paintings and woodcuts. |
