JR West developed 207-2000 series which
are given several improvements to 207-1000 series,
when JR west decided to build 207 series again in 2002. The traction container
unified with auxiliary power supply, WPC11, is similar to 223-1000 series
and later series. Unlike 223-1000 series, motored cars of 207-2000 series are not equipped with the compressor.
On the basis of the bogies of 207-1000, Journal box supporting system was
changed into the coil spring and multi-layered cylindrical rubber together
to ensure smooth ride characteristics.
The wheelchair space was provided in Kuha206 although passenger accommodation
was the same as 207-1000 series.
Now, 207-2000 series are used on local services of JR Kyoto line, JR Kobe
line, JR Takarazuka line, JR Tohzai line, and the Gakken-toshi line. |
