LOCATION:

  • South-western part of Costa Rica.
  • South of Quepos.

ACCESS:

  • By bus from San Jose to Manuel Antonio, takes about 5 hours.
  • There are some tours from San Jose.

ACCOMMODATION:

  • There are a lot of lodges around Manuel Antonio National Park and Quepos.

BIRDS:

  • There are a lot of waterbirds along the shore, and also a lot of birds are observed in mangrove.
  • Shorebirds and Seabirds are observed here, for example, Brown Pelican, Anhinga, White Ibis, Yellow-crowned Night-Heron, Little Blue Heron, Green-backed Heron, etc...
  • A lot of Hawkes are observed along the road from Quepos to Carara.
  • Lots of forest birds are observed in the park. There are some trails in the park. Very difficult to see forest birds and aminals.

MAMMALS:

  • Lot of mammals are observed this area, for example, Brown-throated three-toed sloth, Central American squirrel monkey, White-fronted capuchin monkey, Mantled howler monkey, Northern raccoon, Central American agouti, etc.
