Visiting the places remembered in connection with Karl von Frish

Introduction

In October 12, 1973, the press reported that the winners of the Nobel prize for physiology or medicine of the year were Karl von Frish, Konrad Lorenz and Nikolaas Tinbergen. Karl von Frish had found the facts that honeybees told their family members where flowers were in bloom by dancing, had a sense of color and had the ability to perceive the ultraviolet rays, which human never notice. The article said that those achievements were the reason for the award. For me, who have been interested in and studying these scholars' works, it was surprising and a lot of joy.
It has been thirty years since then, a decade has past since I met Japanese honeybees and I was going to turn sixty; I thought that I took this occasion to know Frish - to know where he lived, what he felt and what he saw in his life of studying honeybees. I cannot speak German, nor English either, but I have a big dream of knowing Frish better. The only clue I have now is the autobiography of Frish "Studying a honeybee - recollection of the biologist" (Hosei University Press). Anyway, I am now getting down to work with this book. If you have any information about Frish, please contact me by mail.
