Truth of Foreign Minister Hirota's Telegram
Koki Hirota : foreign minister of Japan in 1937.
By Ichirou Matsuo
Recently, Hirota's telegram is widely spread to the American scholar and Chinese American.
They insist that Hirota visited China and wrote "300,000 Chinese were massacred " and the telegram is the
report from Hirota to the Japanese ambassdor house in Washington.
And Chinese American,Chinese and Tiwanee insist that the telegram is the evidence of Nanking Massacre.
But, this is a typical Fake by Chinese and is a distortion of history.
There are two telegram, No.206 and No.227, and both telegram were made as 1 set.
They have distributed only No.227 telegram and have upset the meaning of telegram.
Moreover, Hirota had never visited China in those days.
Now you know, this is the typical evil propagannda.
The details are as follows :
No.206 Telegram (#175 message) shows " Japanese censors seized a telegram of Timperley* of Manchester Guardian in China.
We are going to send it from Shanghai to Tokyo by message #176 "
No.227 Telegram shows the content of what Timperley was going to send.
If one see only No.227 telegram, he will easily mistake that Hirota wrote 300,000massacre.
Chinese are intentionally hiding No.206 telegram to make people to misunderstand the meaning.
But, it is easy to prove that No.227 telegram was not written by Hirota.
Japanese ministry of foreign affairs was sending telegram in Japanese language in those days.
And Japanese code telegram was solved by USA military force. When they translated Japanese into English, they did not know the spelling of Timperley, So it is written in the footnote of No.206 telegram that "Japanese Spelling of Name " .
It is written in No.206 telegram that "as given in separate message #176", So the content of #176(=No.227) telegram is written by Timperley.
So, I of the phrase "I investigated reported atrocities committed by Japanese Army in Nanking" in No.227 telegram,
is Timperley and is not Hirota.

Article from San Francisco Chronicle, July.26.1998
by Charles Burress, Chronicle Staff Writer
Wars of Memory
When Iris Chang wrote ``The Rape of Nanking,'' to memorialize one of the bloodiest massacres of civilians in modern times,
she wasn't prepared for the firestorm she started
Charles Burres,Chronicle Staff Writer, wrote in his article above as follows :
Other mistakes occur in Chang's book, which quotes as ``compelling evidence'' a secret telegram by Japan's foreign minister admitting that Japanese troops, ``in a fashion reminiscent of Attila and his Huns,'' had slaughtered ``not less than 300,000 Chinese civilians.'' This was, in fact, a quotation from the cable of a British reporter, and concerned deaths not only in Nanjing but elsewhere.
Site Manager :
Mr. Burres did not write in the details, but he seems to know the same as us.
As an Japanese, I can surely say " Japanese people know very little about "the fact of Attila and Hun"
.So, it will never happens to use "Attila and Hun" as the example of cruelty.
I believe ,other Asian pepole also knows little about "Attila and Hun"

It is an irony of history that Hirota is a peace seeker against crazy militarists. Unbelievable? Please read This Book and Here.
