私には特別に大切にしている数冊の猫の本があります。その中には『猫の写真館』と『猫だより』という2冊があります。この本の著者であるカメラマンの家に住みついてしまった猫が子を産み、その子猫達の里親を探し、その後、カメラマンが成長した猫達 を訪ねて行く内容が含まれています。 どの子も幸せな家庭で過ごしていたのですが、残念なことに会いに行った時には、亡くなってしまった子もいました。そのページを読むたびに、『もう少し、生きててほしかった。』と思ってしまいます。それと同時に、幼い頃に別れた子猫に再会することが出来 て、ほっとする気持ちにもなります。いつ読んでも、心暖かさを感じます。

私にとって、我が家の猫達の中でダダは特別な存在です。幼い頃に私達と別れなければならなかったダダに対しては、今でも特別な思いがあります。 それは、同じ経験をされた人々の共通の感情だと思います。ダダが亡くなってしまった事はとても悲しい出来事でしたが、幸せなことに、今ではダダと同じ先祖を持つポプラが 家族になっています。ダダとポプラの母は異母姉弟です。ダダとポプラは日本で生まれましたが、彼らは遠いアイスランドに親戚があります。素敵な感じです。

I have some books about cats, which are my favorite. Two of them are called 'Neko No Shashin-kan' and 'Neko Dayori' in Japanese. The one means Cat's Photo Studio and the other means Hear From Cats. The story is about like this; A cat, who was a homeless cat, had settled in a photographer's house. The cat had her babies and the photographer, who is a writer, found out new families for the kittens. He visited each cat after they had grown up. Every cat had spend a happy life, but unfortunately one of them passed away. On the one hand I feel like, ' I wish he could live.', on the other hand I feel relived at the news that he could see them. I feel the warm heart from some people in the books whenever I read them.
(Note: The books have an American, a British, a French, a German and a Finnish version. I think they were translated from Japanese into each language.)

For me, Dada was a most special cat of my cats. I still have a special feeling for him because he had to say goodbye to us when he was so, so young. I think some people would be able to understand my feeling if they had almost the same experience as I did. It's so difficult for me to accept to have lost him, but fortunately I have Poplar now. They have the same ancestor because Poplar's mother is Dada's half sister. Both Dada and Poplar were born in Japan and have a relative in Iceland, where it is quite a distance from here. That sounds great!
