The Isonos and I

What's Namihei?

My handle name Namihei originates from a famous long-term newspaper cartoon "Sazae-san" written by Machiko Hasegawa. Namihei Isono is a name of the father of Sazae-san, a heroine of the cartoon. In Japanese, "Isono" means sea coast and "Namihei" means calm wave. My family name is also Isono and my first grandson was named "Yohei", which means calm ocean.. My character is quite different from that of Namihei Isono who appears in the cartoon. However, I favor this name just because he does not resemble to me.that may reflect my hidden desire for rebirth. In the cartoon, Namihei never get old after dozens of years and I hope so too actually in my life.
