Profile of Dr. Yu Yong Chang

Dr. Yu Yong Chang Medical Doctor,Qigong Master He was born in 1951 at Qingdao City, Shandong-sheng, China  Early in his childhood, he started to learn traditional Chinese medicine and Qigong from his father, and he also studied a lot of books related to Chinese medicine and health exercises. At the age of sixteen, he started to engage in medical treatments handed on within the Yu-family using the techniques of acupuncture, Qigong Tui Na (Qigong massage), cupping,  checking a patient's pulse, and using herbal preparations, and others.   He graduated from the traditional Chinese medicine department, at the Medical School of Qingdao Zhigong Daxue(Qingdao University for working members of society). He has obtained a medical practitioner's license.  He was the head of the clinic attached to the Qingdao Gongyi Gongchang ( factory to produce arts and crafts )from 1983 to 1986.

• He has created a series of medical Qigong; the Tong Hui Gong System.
  Based on his own studies and practices of more than thirty years, he has designed the original    Tong Hui Gong System, consisting of more than thirty kinds of Qigong methods. As a result of his work, medical Qigong has made remarkable progress. Tong Hui Gong is the only medical Qigong that is fully systematized .
•   He has developed a comprehensive system of Tui Na Xue ( Qigong Tui Na therapy ).
    After more than thirty years of study and clinical experiences, he has created forty-six kinds of Qigong Tui Na therapeutic methods and completed the comprehensive system of Qigong Tui Na therapy ( Yu Yong Chang Qigong Tui Na therapy ). Tui Na was once one of the three main branches of traditional Chinese medical therapies, along with Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture. It is several thousand years old and formerly included many methods of treatment using the hands. 
    However, Tui Na had remained incomplete because there were no therapies to precisely correspond to each disease. Owing to the completion of "Yu Yong Chang Qigong Tui Na therapy", the gap in Chinese medicine was successfully filled.
    He wrote " Yu-style Qigong Tui Na therapy", "Chinese Qigong Tui Na Therapy" and "Qigong Tui Na for infants and children". --- (Note: at present, only available in Japanese)
•  He has created the Yu-shi Zhou Tian Tui Na Fa ( Yu-style Qigong Tui Na therapy ).
   He has created the system of Yu-style Qigong Tui Na therapy, which includes individual therapies corresponding to specific ailments.
• His scientific research :
    Since he came to Japan in 1987, he has conducted many scientific experiments and research studies in cooperation with various universities, research institutes and hospitals to scientifically analyze Qigong and to spread it correctly and widely. Qigong is a valuable legacy given to modern people by ancient people who created it in their wisdom. Some of the results of those experiments and research have been reported on NHK's "Science Q", and other TV programs broadcast by NHK Educational Channel, Fuji TV, TV Asahi , TV Tokyo, Nippon TV and others.
• He has solved some questions that had remained unsolved in so-called Chinese "chrono-medicine."
   He has solved some questions remaining unsolved in Ziwuliuzhu Najiafa ( specific Chinese medical treatment ) of Chinese chrono-medicine (the medicine which has some relationship with time. For example, the best time to strengthen the kidneys by making full use of Qi in nature is considered to be five to seven in the evening..) and has written papers such as "the law of acupuncture-point opening and the techniques of opening closed acupuncture points in the Ziwuliuzhu Najiafa and others.
•  He has clarified the correlation between Qi, Yi (Chinese divination ) and Chinese medicine.
  Based on his own research on Qi, Chinese divination and Chinese medicine, he wrote the book "Study on the correlation between Qi, Chinese divination and Chinese medicine". (at present, only available in Japanese )
•  He has designed an original Yu-style comprehensive anti-cancer therapy.
   He has been studying anti-cancer therapies through making use of a variety of Chinese medical therapies and Qigong, and finally created a Yu-style comprehensive anti-cancer therapy. He has been helping many cancer patients by applying this comprehensive therapy. In 1991, at the request of the Japan Holistic Medical Society, he presented a paper about his research studies at the Holistic Medicine Symposium. ( The theme was "Thinking of medical care in the future through    anti-cancer treatments.")
• At present , he is
  the president of The International Qigong Association,
  the Head of the Tokyo Qigong Tui Na Academy,
  the Head of the Tokyo Research Institute for Intractable Diseases,
  the Head of the Research Institute for Improving the Intellectual Capacity of Youths,
  and a member of the Japan Lung Cancer Society.
