In the summer of 1990, the first computer came to my house. It was a NEC laptop 98n. Got a 12MHz of CPU and of course no HDD. Had 2.6MB of RAM. Run MSDOS 3.1 or something, I forgot. I used Ichitaro ver. 3 to type my master theses. In those days, a computer was not so useful to type Japanese. So, after I got a job in my school, I used a Panasonic word processor machine. CPU V30 12MHz |
May 1994, the first Apple Macintosh came. LC 575 was it. There were several Macintosh users in our school and Kanji talk 7.1 was much easier to use than Windows 3.1. Especially, Aldus Page Maker was a killer application. I used this machine very much and liked very much. This is the beginning of my computer life, actually... CPU 68040LC 33MHz |
October 95, Apple Power Book 540C. This cool design laptop had a 9.5 inches TFT liquid crystal display. It was as powerful as LC 575. CPU 68040LC 33MHz |
