多摩地域における「在日外国人」問題は、国際化が叫ばれる現代において、多摩地域に暮らす全ての人々にとって極めて重要な問題といえます。また、この問題は、日本人の国際化の問題であると同時に、日本の国民性
とでもいうべき「みんな同じでみんないい」とする集団主義が、必然的に在日外国人や障害者といったマイノリティ（少数者）を抑圧してしまうという文化に根ざした問題であり、そう意味では極めて根の深い問題である
ともいえます。
そこで、多摩地域に暮らす在日外国人及びさまざまな在日日本人が集まり交流するこのイベントを開催することによって、参加した人々が在日外国人問題をはじめとする多くのマイノリティ問題を正確に認識及び実感するとともに、これからの多摩地域を真に豊かな地域社会＝共生社会とするために、広域的な交流を深め、さらに同様の問題意識をもつ多くの市民及び市民団体と相互の協力関係を育成し、今後の市民ネットワークの充実・拡
大につなげていくことを目的とする。

At a time when everybody is speaking
about internationalization, the issues facing non-Japanese
in the Tama Region are issues of vital importance for
everybody living in the Tama Region. Internationalization
is an issue that Japanese have to deal with. But at
the same time, the almost national trait of the Japanese
to think it's good for everybody to be the same and
the dominance of conformity create a culture that tends
to overpower minorities such as foreigners and the disabled.
That's what makes internationalization an issue where
the problems have roots lying deeply within society.
By holding an event that joins together foreigners
and Japanese living in the Tama Region, it provides
an opportunity for people to become aware of, and experience,
problems faced by minority groups such as foreigners,
while at the same time helps build a truly rich community
in the Tama Region. To create a harmonious society,
we aim to deepen relations over a broad area, nurture
the cooperative ties that exist between citizens and
civic groups aware of problems, and build a bigger and
better community network. |
