【From editor's note of The World of Andrei Pozdeyev】

The art of Andrei Gennadjevitch Pozdeyev, a painter from Krasnoyarsk, is a unique phenomenon in the contemporary history of fine arts. It so happened that for a dozen of years it was practically omitted by any profound reseach and deprived of the possibility to be admired by the general public of fine art lovers in any big cultural centere. It was only in the recent decade, after two representative one-man exhibitions in Moscow. (Central House of Artists, 1993)
and in St.Petersburg (State Russian Museum), and also thanks to two albums and a series of publications by art critics in central journals, that Pozdeyev attracted intent attention as an artist of a surprisingly bright and unique talent.

The art of A.Pozdeyev is remarkably diverse and multi-faceted. A profound research and systematisation of the artist's legacy we have started preparing a new set consisting of three books under the title <The World of AndreiPozdeyev>. The first of the book titled <painting> is now submitted to judgement of connoisseurs art. Publication of this book has been timed to a retrospective exhibition of A.Pozdeyev's painting in the State Tretyakov Gallery.

We do hope that we succeeded, at least, to a certain extent, to demonstrate not only the lage scale of the artistic capacities of the painter, but also the extraordinary natural logics and continuity of the aesthetic and spiritual evolution of his outstanding and generous talent.
