@ Bone in Burnley, 1926. Terry
Hayworth began his carrer as a child actor with the Old Vic Theater
Company.
@He trained as a dancer with the Sadler's Wells Ballet studied
Nicolaeva, Nicolai Legat and Olga Preobrajenska and appeared
with several British ballet companies and other countries ballet
companies;
Angelo-Polish Ballet (1943), Ballet de Trois Arts (1944), Metropolitan
Ballet (1947 - 49), Leonide Massine's Ballet (1950), Ballet de
Roland Petit (1951) and danced in Bordeaux, Brussels and Antwerp
with Walter Gore's London Ballet (1963) etc., and danced in musical
and in French with the Grand Ballet du Marquis de Cuevas.
@He jointed London Festival Ballet (now English National Ballet)
in 1966, specialising in character role.
@He created many roles for the company such as the Butral in
gThe Sanguine Fanhand Tikhon in gThe Stormh. Other notable roles
included the Headmistress in gGraduation Ballh, the Eunuch in
gScheherazadeh, the Corregitor in gThe Three-Corenered Hathand
Drosselmeyer in Ronald Hynd's gThe Nutcrackerh.
@ Since leaving London Festival
Ballet(1984), Terry has appeared with London City Ballet in such
role as Madge in gLa Sylphideh, the Major Domo in gSwan Lakeh,
Monsieru Duval in gLa Traviatah, the Father in gCinderellah,
Headmaster in gGraduation Ballh, Load Capulet in gRomeo and Julieth,
Conjurman in Jack Carter's gThe Wichboyh, the Duke in gGiselleh
and Dr. Coppelius in the London City Ballet's highly acclaimed
production of gCoppeliahetc.
@He appeaded twice as Dr. Coppelius - one of his best roles -
in Japan, as guest artist of Japanese Ballet Company.
@Hayworth is regarded as one of the great charactor artists of
British Ballet.
