SuperCon 2000 (shareware)
Five stars ZDNet 5-Star Editors' Pick: "Highly configurable, easy-to-use, attractive interface, easy install and lots of available conversion units included..."
Five stars j-ello's Pick: "Thank you for producing great software for the public..."
SuperCon 2000, formerly known as Converter II, derives from the freeware Unit Converter. Unit Converter was optimized for the really practical use of the author's own: It was featured by compactness and quick accessibility to the units to be converted from/into. Since the first release of Unit Converter we received requests from some users for more flexibility in adding units and editing conversion tables. We once considered to modify Unit Converter to meet the requests, but finally came to conclude it will degrade its optimized feature for the original purpose. Consequently Converter II, which was highly configurable and had a quite different graphical user interface, was newly made by us as shareware.

Why does it allows you to see the conversion factors in the main window? The answer is that a professional would instinctively like to witness what's going with his own eyes.

The latest version, SuperCon 2000, features thoroughly upgraded functions for professional uses:

VERSION 2.0 - IMPROVEMENT:
  • Modified for Windows 2000/XP
VERSION 1.2 - IMPROVEMENTS AND FIXED PROBLEMS:
  • Only the attachment calculator ExCalc was updated on June 29, 2001 (no modification was made to SuperCon 2000 and the associated files): Calculation results could not be correctly shown after a decimal separator only when the operating system uses a comma as the decimal separator. This problem was due to an improper number locale conversion process though calculations themselves were correctly done. This bug was fixed. This bug can be neglected for an operating system which uses a dot as the decimal separator.
  • You can now change the font name for the text boxes in each dialog box. You don't have to fumble any more about entering characters or choosing a font name of your native language.
  • A memo could not be directly edited in the Memo window. This bug was fixed.
VERSION 1.1.2 - IMPROVEMENTS AND FIXED PROBLEMS:
  • In some Windows language environments which use double-byte characters, the Options dialog box could not open. This bug was fixed.
  • Conversion table was updated.
  • ExCalc was updated.
VERSION 1.1 - NEW FEATURES:
  • Contains 67 physical quantities (formerly 44), and 760 units (formerly 350).
  • The conversion factors SuperCon 2000 employs were totally reconstructed as values with the significant figures of 15, based on the strict base conversion factors such as foot to meter, pound to kilogram, BTU to joule, gallon to cubic meter, etc. Therefore, the conversion factors SuperCon 2000 employs are far more accurate than the data referred.
  • Either a dot or a comma can be recognized as decimal separator, while results are shown in accordance with the number locale which is dependent on the operating system.
  • A high-performance math expression evaluator ExCalc is attached. SuperCon 2000 and ExCalc can exchange conversion and calculation results as their inputs.
  • Provides the quick reference function to ease quick reference to conversion results for a set of numbers you frequently use.
  • Also provides the batch conversion function to instantaneously convert a set of numbers.
  • The maximum numbers of categories, physical quantities and units SuperCon 2000 can contain are 30 (formerly 15), 200 (100) and 100 respectively.
  • The category icon became changeable.
This program requires Visual Basic 5.0 runtime drivers. You can download the setup module from our site as freeware. Be sure to download the correct module for Visual Basic 5.0 (VB5) and follow the instructions included in the file.
