O n August 1997 the newly constructed low floored tram based on a combination technology of Japan and Germany was started its operation as the first and epochmaking street car in Japan.

I n fact, many radio /TV stations, newspapers and magazines reported about the new tram as a symbol for next century`s ideal images of the urban railways in Japan.

T o day`s (30Dec97) TV news said, Japanese government annouced their new policy to reduce a concentration of carbon dioxide in atmosphere by expanding LRT networks with aids by the governmental budget.
