ドイツ、ミュンヘンで、3年毎に開催される環境展示会IFATが開催された。

第15回国際上下水処理・廃棄物処理・リサイクルに関する専門見本市であるIFAT2008は5月5日から9日の5日間ミュンヘンのメッセで開催された。会場は13ホ-ルで展示会場面積は、170,000m2で、環境展示会としては、世界最大級のものである。IFAT2008には、163ヶ国から約120,000人（前回109,000人）が訪れた。この中で、ドイツ以外の国から40,000人（前回34,200人）が訪問した。それぞれ10％、18％増しとなっている。

また、展示社を見ると、444ヶ国から2,560社（前回2,222社）の展示があり、前年より15％増加している。約1/3を占める国際的にも高いレベルの参加があった。IFATの総括によると、訪問者の97％は、IFATでの展示に良好、すばらしいとの評価を与えており、81％の人々は、IFATを商売上のパ−トナなどに、多分あるいは全く推奨できる、と言っているとのことである。
