"Beijing, winter of Hutong"
New Year's Eve in 2000 stayed at the dormitory
of the pretty guesthouse on the north side
in Forbidden City in Beijing. There are many
tourists of Europeans and Americans in the
guesthouse which converted the dwelling of
the traditional form of Beijing.
The youths of the same room were the people
from Australia, and since he spoke Japanese
fluently, I did not need to feel the loneliness
of New Year's Eve. When saying so, I had
become the people from New Zealand in the
same room who spoke Japanese before.
By the reason for saying, I saw the morning
of the beginning in the 21st century in Beijing.
It is fearfully cold in the winter of Beijing.
I was as hard as I wanted to come to cry.
Qianmen (on the south of Forbidden City )
is atmosphere like Ameyoko in Ueno in Tokyo,
and many people are shopping. I am weak to
cold. I continued photography of Hutong (
the traditional alley in Beijing ), going
into a teahouse every 30 minutes, in order
to warm the body.
The men of Beijing are familiar with cold.
Although it is midwinter, they are doing
some shopping by coming out to a town happily.
I thought that I should come absolutely in
summer, when coming to Beijing next time,
having not talked with whom and photoing
winter of Beijing alone.
