1925 Seiken Syukumine Sensei is born in
Okinawa.
1933 Starts to practice Karate under Anko
Sadoyama.
1937 Becomes the student of Mr.Soko Kishimoto.
1945 Creates a system of
techniques that can be adapted to spatial movement in three
dimensions, based on the five principles of Sen, Un, Hen, Nen and
Ten movements.
1948 The first public
demonstration of his techniques is hold in Ito City, Shizuoka
Prefecture.
1953 During ten years, he
is instructing and experimenting with Gensei-ryu Karate at places
like universities, the Self-Defense Forces and corporate groups
in the Tokyo area.
1956 Granted the highest
grade (8 Dan Kyoshi) in Karate.
1962 The principles of
techniques of the new martial art start to take shape, and he
names it "Taido".
1963 To establish Taido
scientifically, Seiken Syukumine formulates a fundamental theory
based on the correlation between the essential components of
martial arts (Taiki,Doko,Seigyo) and the phenomena of human,
society and nature.
1965 Systemizes Taiki(Laws
of breathing), Doko(Laws of body movements) and Seigyo(Laws of
conflict), and the different principles and theories are united
into "Taido".
Japanese Taido Association is established, and he assumes the
President of the Association, Saiko-Shihan (Supreme Instructor).
1983 Established Tha World Taido Federation,
and assumes the positions of President of and Saiko Shihan(Supreme Instructor).of
tha Federeation
Present instruction at 35 districts and 34 universities in Japan, and
at 12 foreign countries.
2001 He died at the age of 75.
