Today we learned "Social
Talk-Invitations "and "Health problems".
Every week I thought I couldn't listen the tape's
conversation. We talked about "It is a shame." MICHIKO asked ROBIN "if someone declined my invitation, should I say 'It is a shame' to s/he?"ROBIN answered "Not have to say that. If you have to say 'it is a shame' in invitasions, you use 'I'm sorry'. And you not have to use 'It's a shame'. It is more strong." I thought "There is a song 'Shame'. But does shame mean famous or well known?" After few minutes, I realized my mistake. That song is "Fame". |

ROBIN said "In
U.S.A, when someone looks upset, people say 'what's
wrong? ' But Japanese are silent such time. When your
husband come back to home after his work and he looks
upset, are you say 'Honey, what's wrong? '" I heard
that good translation "honey" or "my
better half " into Japanese are nothing. Today, we studyed social-talk "problems". If someone you meet at first time is in trouble, you should use "what's wrong?". If your friend or person you know is in trouble, you can use "how are you feeling?" There are many sentences same meaning... |

Why can't I speak
English? Oppositely why can I speak Japanese? Because I
am Japanese, of course, and I know Japanese sentences
that to be use in the situation. If I can master
sentences that to be use in English, I can tell my
feeling and my object to do to everyone who speaks
English, maybe. Today ROBIN said "These are
different 'You should stop smoking' and 'You should stop
to smoke'." I usually hear a CD to exercise English. I am purpose in hearing the CD 100 times. |
