2008年に「こまばアゴラ劇場夏のサミット」で踊った、川端康成の短編を元にした作品を、再訪して再演出します。山海塾で御活躍の松岡大さんと、多目的打楽器奏者の原口香英さんと共にお送りするライブです。
This live perfomance will be danced by two butoh artists accompanied by the music of Yoshihisa Haraguchi, a multidisciplinary percussion player.

"I can lend you one of my arms for one night."
The novel "One Arm", written by the Noble Laureate Yasunari Kawabata is a story about a man and a woman, which begins like this.
What will happen, if the body and Kawabata's words were to encounter each other?
Two butoh artists will dance, to search for the answer.

山縣美礼
ダンサー・女優・声優。Macalester College 卒業後、2003年までアメリカ・ミネアポリスで舞台女優として活動。
2004年に帰国し、以降大駱駝艦無尽塾と岩下徹から舞踏と即興を学ぶ。
これまでにIntermedia Arts, Weisman Arts Museum, die pratze,STSPOT, RAFT, BankArt1929 「大野一雄フェスティバル2007」、こまばアゴラ劇場「夏のサミット2008」 で振付作品を上演。
2010年、韓国Hooyong Performing Arts Center のレジデンスアーティストとして、第二次世界大戦の一般市民の感情の変化を題材にしたソロ『Shreds and Traces』を滞在制作・上演。
2011年6月にはポーランド・ワルシャワのZawirowania Dance Festivalにてソロ『忘れ花』を再演し、好評を得た。
2011年10月、台湾の台北で行われたAsian Performing Arts FestivalにてShreds and Traces～残跡～』を再演し、同時期に台北の李清私照人劇団の『曹七巧』にも女優として出演。
声優としてはCM、テレビで活動中。
西洋で学んだ「動くこと」、舞踏で学んだ「動かされること」 の境界線を探る作品作りを常に試みている。

MIREI YAMAGATA is a ballet and butoh trained choreographer, dancer, voice actor, and actress. She worked as an actress in Minneapolis until 2003 with Mixed Blood Theater, Mu Performing Arts, and Pillsbury House Theater. After returning to Japan, she studied Butoh extensively with Dairakudakan and Tohru Iwashita. In 2007 she danced a solo piece in the Kazuo Ohno Dance Festival at BankArt1929, curated by Off Nibroll. The same year, she performed her duet "Konatakanata" in the Komaba Agora Theater Summer Summit. In 2009 she collaborated with STSPOT (Yokohama) and presented her solo piece "Forgotten Flowers". In 2010, she performed "55 Minutes of Improvisation - My Body and I", followed by "What Lies Beneath" (artist residency with NPO RAFT). In October 2010 she was invited as a resident artist at Hooyong Performing Arts Centre in Korea, and created/performed a new solo "Shreds and Traces", which was a piece that treated civilian emotions during WW2. In November she participated in the Asian Performing Arts Festival (Tokyo) as a dancer in "Harmony", choreographed by Kwon Young Shim, a Korean traditional dance choreographer. In 2011 she performed her solo "Forgotten Flowers"at the Zawirowania Dance Festival in Warsaw, Poland. In October 2011 she performed her solo "Shreds and Traces" at the Asian Performing Arts Festival in Taiwan, as well as in the theater piece "Ciao Qi Chao" for the Taiwanese Theater Company of Lee Qing Zhao the Private, directed by Liang-Yen Liu. She has also taught butoh in Minneapolis and Taiwan in workshops. She is constantly searching for the balance "to move", learned from Western technique, and "to be moved ", learned from Butoh. She is also a voice actor and dialect coach for Japanese TV dramas and movies.
松岡大
1982年生まれ。上智大学比較文化学科卒。
桑沢デザイン専門学校空間デザイン科卒業。
2005年より舞踏グループ山海塾に舞踏手として参加。
2009年2月に初の演出舞台「NEAR MATTER」を手掛ける。
その後も、継続的な作品作りを行う。
現在月１ペースで、身体と空間のデッサンを積み上げる『デッサンら』を敢行中。
地域や場との関わりの中で生まれるダンスの面白さを追求している。
2011年に、LANDを創設。

DAI MATSUOKA was born in 1982, and graduated from Sophia University with a degree in Comparative Culture. He has also graduated from the Kuwasawa Design Professional College with a degree in Spacial Design.
Since 2005 he has been a dancer for the butoh company Sankaijuku.
In 2009 he directed his first performance "Near Matter", and continues to create his own work. Currently he works on the project "Dessinla", in which teh body and space are layered into a design. He is pursuing the excitement of dance which is born amongst the community and area. In 2011 he launched the company LAND.
原口香英
１９７９年 熊本生まれ、大阪、京都育ち。東京在住。
町内会「竹の子」での和太鼓に始まり、合唱団、ギター、ドラム、ベースを嗜む少年時代を経て、
２００１年秋より本格活動開始。
過去１０年間の活動では、ストリートライブやホテル、レイブパーティ、クラブ、カフェ、バー、美術館、介護施設や大学文化祭、NPO法人の環境フェスや異文化交流フェス等に参加。２００５年より東京を拠点に、コンテンポラリーダンサー、タップダンサー、フラメンコダンサー、現代舞踏家、バレリーナ、茶道講師、水墨画家、映像作家との共演。
２０１１年現在、都内を中心に活動中。

YOSHIFUSA HARAGUCHI was born in Kumamoto in 1979, and currently lives in Tokyo. He started playing Japanese drums in the community group "Takenoko", and during his childhood particpated in the choir, and learned the guitar, drums, and bass. He started his musical career in 2001 and in the past 10 years he has played in street lives, hotels, rave parties, clubs, cafes, bars, museums, nursing homes, university culture festivals, environmental festivals for NPO's, and multicultural exchange festivals. Since 2005 he works in Tokyo collaborating with contemporary dancers, tap dancers, flamenco dancers, contemorary butoh dancers, tea ceremony teachers, calligraphy artists, and visual artists.

の作品に出演します。昨年のアジア舞台芸術祭でもワークショップ上演された作品が新たに拡大版として上演されます。
I will be performing with the Theater Company of Lee Qing Zhao the Private in October. They invited me to teach a workshop in August, and I will be returning there to perform in their piece.

今年も東京芸術見本市ビジュアルプレゼンテーションに参加します。韓国Hooyong Performing Arts Centerで滞在制作・上演をしたShreds and Tracesについて話す予定です。また、作品の一部のショーイングをKAATのスタジオと、プレゼンテーションと一緒に行います。
I will be participating in the Tokyo Performing Arts Market again this year, and be giving a visual presentation on "Shreds and Traces", created during the artist residency at Hooyong Performing Arts Centre/Nottle Theater Company.

2010年9月～10月に韓国、原州にあるHooyong Performing Arts Centerにて3週間の滞在制作をさせていただきました。Korean Arts CouncilとNottle Theater Companyの主催で行われているプログラムは、アーティストが新作を創作、発表する場を与えてもらうプログラムでした。私はShreds and Tracesという、30分の新作を2週間かけて作りました。この作品の構想は実は5年前からあたためていたもので、第二次世界大戦を経験した人々の心についてもっと知りたいという気持ちから始まりました。滞在期間中にはソウルの戦争博物館と、広州にあり元日本軍「慰安婦」が暮らす資料館、「ナヌムの家」を訪れ、そこで感じたことを作品にしました。

I went on a 3 week residency program at Hooyong Performing Arts Centre in Munmark, Korea. This was a program sponspored by the Korean Arts Council and Nottle Theater Company, and allows artists to create and perform their own piece. I created and performed 3a 0 minute solo dance piece called "Shreds and Traces". I have been thinking about creating this piece since 5 years ago - out of my interest in researching the emotions of people who experienced World War 2. During my residency I visited the War Museum in Seoul, as well as "Nanum House", a museum and residence where survivors of sex slaves of the Japanese Imperial Army still live. This piece was created from what I have felt during my stay in Korea, as well as research based on Bertolt Brecht's play "Fear and Misery of the Third Reich".
