What is necessary for the children in 21st Century?

Mr. George Meegan is an adventurer. He is from England. Currently, we works for Kobe University of Mercantile Marine, KUMM.
Until now, he has made many great achievements as an adventurer. He has 11 world records now.
One of his most brilliant achivement is "the Longest Walk in the World". On this adventure, we walked through 2 continents. He started to walk from the southernmost of South-America in 1977. And he reached to the northernmost of North-America in 2000. Through 21 years of his adventure, we had walked up to 31,000 km.
To honor this great adventure, CNN invited him to its famous program, "LARRY KING LIVE".

Environment Preservation
There is one word which our generation have used more frequently than any other past generations did. The word is "Environment". Late 20th Century, this word appeared on the name of bureaucratic organization, such as "Environment ministry".
Before that, people could not understand how valuable the environment is and how important its preservation is.
Nowadays, more people are concerned about Environment problems. However, those problems are getting more serious still now.
For example,
Those problems can be the most serious danger for our children living in the 21th Century. We should avoid that.
Natural Environment is the most precious treasure for our generation. It is the most precious treasure for the next generation as well.
We should succeed this precious treasure to the next generation. It is one of the most important role for our generation.
As you see in our first Q&A (see above), there are many things for our children to learn about. Education is one of the most important method for children to do so. Education should play this important role continuously and forever.
However, the current education system have many problems. For example, in US, 25% of high-school graduates can not read or write English correctly. This situation is continously getting worse, even though education bill is continously increasing. Not only in US but also in many other countries, education system is facing this problem now.
To solve this problem, we should redefine the role of Education.
The following points may give us the possible solution to the improvement of education systems.
to learn about the meaning of "Mutual Respect"
We can see many US originated culture anywhere in the world. For example, we can find McDonald easily in many country. And we see US originated culture quite often.
In Bangarol, India, a hamburger restaurant (which comes from US) were destroyed by citizens. Suprisingly, the police didn't accuse this crime seriously. The reason why the police didn't do so is that it was cultural issue. India has its own culture based on its long history. That culture is different from the one which the attacked restaurant was based on.
To avoid those cultural conflict, we should not only strengthen our culture but also respect other culture.
Mutual respect is one of the most fundamental attitude we should learn about. It is true in our daily-life level as well as in cultural-issue level.
Schools are the best place for children to learn about it.
In the current education system, almost all student shall have study the same subject equally. This equality in education system have been killing various kind of abilities each student had. It is the great loss for our society. To prevent those precious abilities from being killed, the education system should have its flexibility. In other words, we should find the value of any ability a child has.
