How did you spend summer holidays?

Now summer holidays are over, and most of the workers are struggling for their job.
In Japanese society we only have two chances to take consecutive long holidays in summer and winter, but compared to those of western societies they are too short and people seem to spend their holidays so stereotypically.
For those families who live apart from their parents living in the rural area, it is a kind of ritual to go there in spite of bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Particularly in Bon-season we usually go to the graveyard and worship the dead. It is a good chance for brothers and sisters or the relatives to get together and enjoy wining and dining while talking.
For the young singles, it is a good chance to go for a trip with their friends or experience something different from their daily work.
And we wonder how school children spend their long holidays.
We do want them to experience what they can't do at school. It may be camping, climbing moutains, reading stories, playing outdoors or etc.
A child is said to be a genius of playing, but the reality is not always like that. They are busy going to juku, playing a video games in the air-conditioned room almost all day.
Anyway, we would like to feel refreshed, fulfilled and satisfied after holidays and get more energy for tomorrow.
