エドモントンはカナダでも治安のいい場所だと言われていますが，こういう
事件も起こります．アルバータ大学周辺は比較的安全ですが，少し離れると
電灯もなく人通りも余りないような場所がたくさんあります．下の記事にも
あるように，ウエストエドモントンモールの駐車場もその一つで，死角が
いっぱいあります．何かが起こってからでは遅いのですから，暗くなって
からの一人歩きなどは気を付けましょう．

Woman sexually assaulted leaving West Edmonton Mall
A 25-year-old woman was dragged from a West Edmonton Mall parking
lot and subjected to a five-hour sexual ordeal by three strangers.
The assault occurred between 11:30p.m. Tuesday and 4:30a.m. Wednesday.

The woman had gone to a movie at West Edmonton Mall on Tuesday
night. She used the Bourbon Street exit to either catch a bus or
get a cab ride home.
As she walked across the mezzanine parking lot, a van pulled up
and a man got out, grabbed her, clasped his hand over her mouth
and dragged her into the van through the swing-out doors, she
told detectives.
For the next five hours she was driven around the area and
sexually assaulted.
At 4 a.m., she was dropped off at 154th Street and Stony Plain
Road. She walked a couple of blocks and then caught a cab to the
Jasper Place police station a few blocks away.
